About the Role
A leading multi-specialist healthcare facility in Ibadan is seeking a skilled and proactive Electrical Technician / Facility Maintenance Officer to support the efficient operation of hospital infrastructure and electrical systems.
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all electrical installations, equipment, and facility-related systems remain safe, functional, and compliant with established standards.
Key ResponsibilitiesCarry out preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical installations and equipment.
Diagnose electrical faults and perform repairs on lighting systems, power outlets, distribution boards, generators, pumps, and related equipment.
Install, test, and commission electrical fittings and components as required.
Monitor the performance of electrical systems and recommend improvements where necessary.
Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergency breakdowns.
Maintain accurate maintenance records, service reports, and inventory of electrical materials.
Ensure adherence to safety regulations, electrical standards, and hospital policies.
Support general facility management activities to ensure a safe and conducive healthcare environment.
Liaise with external contractors and service providers when required.
RequirementsOND, HND, or Trade Test Certificate in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or a related technical discipline.
Minimum of 3 years' practical experience in electrical maintenance and facility management.
Sound knowledge of electrical wiring, fault diagnosis, installation, and maintenance procedures.
Ability to use electrical testing and diagnostic equipment effectively.
Experience in generator maintenance, electrical control systems, and building services will be an added advantage.
Previous experience in a healthcare environment is desirable.
Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work with minimal supervision.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work flexible hours and respond to emergency maintenance situations when required.
