We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Facility Engineer with strong AutoCAD skills, who will be responsible for store fit-out and ensuring the safe, reliable and efficient operations of our facilities. The role oversees space planning and the technical performance of our facility infrastructure, including electrical, mechanical, plumbing and other building systems such as HVAC; to support smooth daily operations.


Job Description

Manage maintenance and repairs of building systems like lighting, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, roller shutters, HVAC etc. Handling all renovation and fit-out projects of the company’s stores, office and warehouse using light gauge steel joist, gypsum finishing etc. Coordinate third-party contractors for specialized repairs and facility improvements. Effective management of budgets and Inventory / project resources; tracking maintenance expenses and optimize spare parts inventory. Use AutoCAD to design, update, and manage floor plans, fixture placements, and traffic flow diagrams, for renovation/ fit-out projects. Compiling project specification and supervising tendering procedures. Ensuring adherence to project timelines and quality standards. Maintain accurate digital documentation of facility blueprints, as-built drawings, and equipment maintenance logs. Energy Management; optimize power usage and LED retrofits to lower the high utility overhead typical of retail footprints. Ensure compliance with local building codes, occupational health and safety regulations, and environmental standards. Carryout all other engineering related duties assigned by the Line Manager.


Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree or Higher National Diploma in Engineering or any other related discipline. Minimum of 3 years of relevant hands-on experience in facility operations/ building maintenance within retail or commercial property environments. Relevant professional qualification or certification is required. High proficiency in AutoCAD (2D layout design) is mandatory. Proficiency in engineering software and MS Office tools.


Skills Required:

Solid Troubleshooting, Emergency interventions and Preventive Maintenance capabilities to diagnose issues promptly and implement maintenance plans to minimize disruptions. Strong project management skills and engineering principle knowledge. Strong knowledge of building and utility systems (power distribution, HVAC, plumbing, etc.). Familiarity with health, safety, environmental and industry regulatory standards. Must possess maintenance & urgent repair skills, with hands-on experience in retail or commercial environments. Strong attention to detail, and capability to work under time constraints in a fast-paced retail setting. Experience with budgeting and cost control in facility management projects. Strong problem-solving, multi-tasking, communication, and contractor negotiation skills. Sound mathematical, scientific and analytical skills. Strong documentation and organization skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple locations. Ability to work independently, respond to emergencies, and collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams.
