Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and technically skilled Field Engineer to join our team in Port Harcourt. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, troubleshooting, and optimization of telecommunications and ICT infrastructure, including fiber optic, wireless, FTTH/FTTX, microwave, and enterprise network solutions.
The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on field experience, excellent troubleshooting skills, and the ability to lead field teams and provide technical support to customers.
RequirementsEducation:Minimum of HND/BSc in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, Telecommunications Engineering, or a related field.
Relevant industry certifications such as CCNA, Fiber Optic Certification, MikroTik MTCNA/MTCRE are an advantage.
Experience & Skills:Minimum of 3 years' experience in ISP field operations, telecommunications, fiber optics, and wireless networks.
Proven hands-on experience in fiber splicing, RF/microwave installations, network troubleshooting, and CPE configuration.
Strong experience configuring and maintaining routers, switches, access points, and CPEs.
Experience with network monitoring and troubleshooting tools such as PRTG, MRTG, and Wireshark.
Good knowledge of FTTH, FTTX, microwave, wireless, and enterprise network solutions.
Previous experience leading field teams and training junior technicians is an advantage.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Good communication and customer service skills.
Ability to work onsite and respond to field assignments as required.
Ability to work independently and effectively under pressure.
Willingness to travel to customer sites and other field locations when required.
