We are recruiting qualified financial professionals to expand our regional hub in Lagos, Nigeria. The Finance Manager leads BMG's West Africa operations from Lagos, delivering fractional financial management, risk advisory, and shared services to INGOs, multinational corporations, and high-growth commercial enterprises across Anglophone West Africa (Nigeria, Ghana, Sierra Leone, Liberia, Gambia).
Key Responsibilities & Deliverables
Executive Advisory: Act as fractional Finance Manager / Controller for West African clients, providing board-level financial reporting and treasury control. Multi-Currency Treasury: Manage complex multi-currency liquidity (NGN, USD, GBP, EUR), Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) regulatory compliance, and FX foreign exchange operations. Month-End Close: Direct Working Day 3 period close protocols across all West African client accounts.
Federal & State Tax Compliance: Oversee Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) filings (VAT, CIT, WHT) and State Internal Revenue Service (LIRS/PAYE) compliance. Statutory Levies: Manage compliance with Industrial Training Fund (ITF), NSITF, and National Housing Fund (NHF) requirements. Grant Stewardship: Direct financial compliance for institutional donor grants across West Africa.
Lagos Hub Leadership: Supervise local Accountants and Payroll Officers, driving service quality and operational growth. Audit Coordination: Oversee annual statutory financial audits and tax authority audits.
Qualifications & Experience Requirements
Education: B.Sc or M.Sc Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics. Multi-Country Experience: Minimum of 7 years of post-qualification multi-country financial management experience across West Africa. Professional Certification: ICAN (Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria) or ACCA qualification. Nigerian Tax Mastery: Deep expertise in Nigerian tax laws (Finance Acts), FIRS TaxPro-Max portal, and state tax authority regulations. Software Competency: Proficiency in Odoo ERP, Sage, QuickBooks, or SAP.
Multicultural Acceptance: Ability to navigate diverse ethnic, cultural, and corporate environments across West Africa and international donor bodies. Commercial Acumen: Strong business acumen in managing currency volatility and complex regulatory frameworks. High Integrity: Uncompromising adherence to ethical professional standards.
