Job Objectives
The Head of Policy and Public Affairs is a senior managerial role responsible for translating the EnterpriseNGR’s strategic priorities into coherent policy programmes and public affairs initiatives.
The role holder will provide senior policy leadership across the company’s flagship initiatives, strengthen the organisation’s research and thought leadership base, and lead high level engagement with government private sector and international stakeholders.
Duties & Responsibilities
Policy leadership and strategy:Lead the development and execution of EnterpriseNGR’s policy and public affairs work programme.
Support the development and execution of EnterpriseNGR initiatives such as the Lagos International Financial Centre and the Insurance Sector Transformation programme and recommend the development of other initiatives.
Translate strategic objectives into actionable policy initiatives.
Provide policy advice to the Director Policy and Public Affairs.
Research and thought leadership:Oversee high impact policy research projects.
Strengthen EnterpriseNGR’s evidence base and thought leadership.
Stakeholder engagement and advocacy:Build and maintain strategic relationships with government private sector development partners and civil society.
Represent EnterpriseNGR at high level national and international forums.
Drive evidence based advocacy on critical economic issues.
Oversee marketing and onboarding of new members and manage relationships with members and partners.
Team and operational management:Line manage Policy and Public Affairs Associates.
Manage budgets consultants and project delivery.
Others:Performs other duties other duties as may be assigned by the Head, Research Team
RequirementsThe Head of Policy and Public Affairs must be able to demonstrate the following attributes skills and experience:Essential experience and qualifications:Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant discipline such as Economics Law Business Administration Public Policy or Political Science.
Master’s degree or a relevant professional qualification is an advantage.
At least 10 years of relevant experience with a minimum of 3 years in a senior leadership role managing complex programmes or policy initiatives.
Strong policy and stakeholder engagement experience.
Excellent communication and project management skills.
