The thought of creating TERAWORK came to our founder in 2015 after an unpleasant experience where he engaged and worked remotely with an unknown person he met online to help complete a tech project. While it is clear he needed help from an expert for a few days, he didn’t get one. What contributed to the bad experience include lack of online platforms within the region with an end-to-end process for employing remote manpower in a flexible and safe manner.
In response, he created a process he uses repeatedly to find and engage, on on-demand basis, independent workers for his tasks. Unlike before, the process enables both himself and his independent worker trust working remotely with each other. He decided to build the process into a technology for a lot of people to benefit from.
Two years down the line, that technology becomes the foundation of our online freelance marketplace where businesses can conveniently engage, on ‘pay-as-you-go’ basis, freelance professionals across various services including software, mobile apps development, contents writing, creative designs, web design, SEO, digital marketing, animation production, audio/video services, photography, events planning, virtual assistance etc. to work on their projects. TERAWORK is pioneering new ways to inject efficiency and higher productivity into getting workforce.

Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Internal Control Officer to strengthen our internal processes, ensure compliance, and minimise operational risks.
The ideal candidate will play a key role in safeguarding company assets and improving efficiency across business operations.
Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop, implement, and monitor internal control systems and procedures.
Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory standards.
Identify control gaps, risks, and areas for process improvement.
Review financial and operational processes to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
Ensure proper documentation and record-keeping across departments.
Investigate discrepancies, fraud risks, or control breaches.
Prepare detailed audit and control reports for management.
Collaborate with different departments to enforce internal control best practices.
RequirementsBachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
2–4 years of experience in internal control, audit, or compliance roles.
Professional certification (e.g., ICAN, ACCA) is an added advantage.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Good knowledge of risk management and internal control frameworks.
High level of integrity and attention to detail.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel).
SalaryN150,000 - N190,000 monthly.
