Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Information Technology Support Officer role based in Jos. The role involves providing day-to-day technical support for networking, cyber-security, ERP infrastructure, website management, and IT systems across the organization.
Responsibilities include installing, configuring, and maintaining software and hardware, as well as diagnosing and resolving technical issues for end users.
The IT Support Officer will monitor system performance, apply security best practices, perform regular backups, and ensure business-critical applications and infrastructure operate reliably.
The role also covers repairs, preventive maintenance, documentation of IT procedures, and collaboration with other departments to support smooth business operations.
QualificationsCandidates should possess strong Technical Support and Information Technology skills, with experience in general IT operations within an enterprise environment.
Candidates should possess solid Troubleshooting abilities, including diagnosing, resolving, and escalating hardware, software, and network issues.
Candidates should possess hands-on experience working with Computers, including installation, configuration, upgrades, and performance optimization.
Candidates should possess Printer Support skills, including setup, maintenance, and resolution of printing and connectivity problems.
Relevant skills in networking (LAN/WAN, Wi-Fi, routers, switches), cyber-security (antivirus, firewalls, access control), and ERP systems administration are highly beneficial.
Experience in website management, including basic updates, security monitoring, and coordination with web hosting providers, is an advantage.
A Diploma or Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred, along with industry certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft, Cisco) as an added advantage.
Strong communication skills, attention to detail, ability to work under pressure, and a customer-focused approach to supporting.
