Job Summary
On behalf of our client, we are seeking a Junior Project Engineer who will provide technical, administrative, and project coordination support to the Project Management/Technical Team.
The successful candidate will work under the supervision of a Senior Project Engineer.
Key responsibilitiesThe Junior Project Engineer shall perform the following duties:Project Planning and Coordination: Support the preparation, review, and updating of project implementation plans, work schedules, activity trackers, and milestone schedules.
Technical Review: Assist in reviewing engineering drawings, technical specifications, designs, bills of quantities, method statements, and other technical submissions, identifying discrepancies for escalation.
Project Monitoring: Monitor assigned project activities against approved implementation schedules, technical specifications, milestones, and deliverables, highlighting deviations and potential delays.
Site Monitoring and Inspection: Participate in project site visits and inspections to observe implementation progress, document findings, and report technical or operational issues.
Contractor and Consultant Coordination: Support technical engagements with contractors, consultants, suppliers, and other stakeholders, including tracking submissions, deliverables, and outstanding obligations.
Quality Assurance and Compliance: Assist in monitoring compliance with approved engineering standards, project specifications, quality assurance procedures, and applicable regulatory requirements.
Health, Safety and Environmental Compliance: Observe and report health, safety, and environmental concerns during project implementation and support the documentation of corrective actions.
Project Reporting: Prepare periodic technical updates, progress reports, presentations, and other project documentation for review by the supervising officer and Management.
Risk and Issue Tracking: Maintain project risk, issue, action, and decision registers, identify implementation bottlenecks, and escalate matters requiring management attention.
Equipment Installation and Commissioning: Support the coordination and documentation of equipment inspection, delivery, installation, testing, commissioning, and resolution of outstanding technical issues.
Project Documentation and Handover: Maintain organised project records and assist in compiling completion reports, as-built drawings, operation and maintenance manuals, and other handover documentation.
Stakeholder Engagement and General Support: Participate in project meetings, document decisions and action points, follow up on assigned tasks, and perform other relevant engineering and project coordination duties as may be assigned by the supervising officer.
QualificationsCandidates should possess a Bachelor's Degree with 2 years experience.
