Job Title: Medical Laboratory Scientist

Collect and receive patient specimens, including blood, urine, and other clinical samples.
Perform laboratory tests using manual techniques and automated analyzers.
Conduct tests in areas such as:
Hematology – blood cells and blood disorders
Clinical chemistry – glucose, electrolytes, liver/kidney tests, etc.
Microbiology – bacteria, fungi, and other microorganisms
Immunology/serology – antibodies and immune-related tests
Blood transfusion science – blood grouping, crossmatching, and compatibility testing
Parasitology – detection of parasites
Examine and interpret laboratory findings within the scope of professional practice.
Record and report accurate test results to physicians and other authorized healthcare professionals.
Perform quality-control procedures and troubleshoot laboratory equipment.
Maintain and calibrate laboratory instruments as required.
Follow infection-control, biosafety, and waste-disposal procedures.
Maintain accurate patient and laboratory records.
Ensure reagents, supplies, and specimens are properly stored and handled.
Participate in quality assurance, audits, and laboratory improvement activities.
Keep up to date with laboratory procedures, technology, and professional standards.
Work collaboratively with doctors, nurses, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals.
QualificationsA Bachelor's Degree in Medical Laboratory Science
Professional registration/licensure where required.
Relevant clinical or laboratory experience.
Knowledge of laboratory information systems and diagnostic equipment.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient safety.
