Job Description
A full-time opportunity is available for an Operations Manager to oversee day-to-day manufacturing and recycling operations at a production facility in Lagos.
ResponsibilitiesAchieve agreed daily and monthly production targets and track material yield.
Monitor incoming PET bottles, sorting quality, stock levels, and material losses.
Ensure efficient machinery operation, coordinate troubleshooting, and manage preventive maintenance schedules.
Ensure finished products meet required customer specifications and QA/QC standards.
Supervise factory operators, technicians, shift staff, and general production personnel.
Monitor and control operational costs, including electricity, diesel, water, labour, and consumables.
Maintain accurate inventory records for raw materials, chemicals, spare parts, and finished goods.
Enforce health, safety, and environmental regulations, safe operating procedures, and incident reporting protocols.
Coordinate production schedules and product dispatches with the sales team.
Submit daily, weekly, and monthly operational reports to management.
QualificationsOND or HND in Polymer Science, Production Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or Industrial Engineering
Essential Experience:Minimum three years of directly relevant Production Operations Management experience.
Direct experience in managing manufacturing or recycling operations.
Experience supervising industrial machinery and managing preventive maintenance workflows.
Proven track record in production planning, scheduling, and output monitoring.
Experience managing raw materials, consumables, and finished inventory.
Demonstrated experience supervising factory workers, technicians, and shift operators.
Experience implementing workplace health, safety, and environmental standards.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel or equivalent production-reporting tools.
Preferred Experience:Experience in PET bottle recycling, plastic washing and flaking, plastic extrusion, or polyester fibre production.
Understanding of PET processing stages from bottle receipt, sorting, label removal, crushing, washing, drying to packaging.
Understanding of fibre production processes including extrusion, melt filtration, spinning, and fibre finishing.
Relevant formal training in plastics processing, recycling, maintenance, health and safety, or QA/QC management.
Background or training in business management.
SalaryN350,000 / Month (Net)
