Product Designer - Consumer Products

We are seeking a skilled Product Designer to contribute to the development of exceptional consumer-facing payment experiences. Your work will have a direct impact on millions of Africans as they engage with digital commerce, making payments more intuitive, enjoyable, and accessible.

You will collaborate closely with product managers, engineers, and fellow designers to comprehend user needs, business requirements, and technical constraints. Together, you will craft elegant solutions that cater to our user base across various regions, addressing payment challenges with innovative, culturally relevant approaches.

Your daily responsibilities will involve participating in product strategy discussions, conducting user research, creating wireframes and prototypes, designing user-friendly interfaces, and continuously refining based on user feedback. You will also contribute to our expanding design system, ensuring consistency across the Paystack product ecosystem.

You will report directly to the Product Design Lead and work within a collaborative team focused on consumer experiences. This is a full-time position, and ideally, the successful candidate will be physically located in Nigeria.

Create elegant, intuitive interfaces that push the boundaries of visual and interaction design and establish new benchmarks for consumer-facing payment products.
Work with product managers to transform business requirements and user needs into compelling design solutions.
Develop user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs that effectively communicate your ideas.
Perform user research and usability testing to validate design decisions and identify areas for improvement.
Contribute to and help maintain our design system, ensuring uniformity across Paystack products.
Collaborate closely with engineers to ensure designs are implemented with high fidelity and attention to detail.
Keep up-to-date with design trends, patterns, and best practices, particularly in financial technology and African markets.
Champion user-centered design practices throughout the organization.
Offer constructive feedback to your teammates to help elevate our design practice.


You will excel in this role if you


Have 3+ years of experience designing digital products with a strong portfolio showcasing your process and outcomes.
Possess strong visual design skills with an eye for typography, color, layout, and interaction design.
Have experience designing for financial services, payments, or e-commerce.
Demonstrate expertise in mobile design patterns, with a nuanced understanding of when to follow conventions and when to innovate.
Are proficient in using design tools like Figma.
Exhibit excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate design decisions and receive feedback.
Have experience conducting user research and applying insights to design solutions.
Can balance user needs with business goals and technical constraints.
Are passionate about creating accessible, inclusive designs for diverse user populations.
Enjoy rapidly iterating based on feedback.
