Protection & Gender Field Assistant

JOB PURPOSE

This role involves engaging with vulnerable populations, facilitating protection and gender-sensitive activities, and ensuring adherence to organizational standards and policies. The assistant will work closely with partners, stakeholders, and community members to promote safety, dignity, and gender equality.

RESPONSIBILITIES


Assist in the implementation of protection and gender programming activities at the field level.
Conduct community outreach and awareness campaigns on protection and gender issues.
Identify and report protection concerns, vulnerabilities, and gender-specific needs among affected populations.
Support the registration, referral, and follow-up processes for protection cases.
Facilitate safe spaces and support services for women, children, and other vulnerable groups.
Collect and maintain accurate data related to protection and gender activities, ensuring confidentiality.
Liaise with local authorities, community leaders, and partner organizations to promote protection and gender equality.
Support capacity-building activities for community members and local partners.
Ensure activities adhere to organizational policies, protection standards, and gender-sensitive approaches.
Assist in preparing reports, documentation, and case studies as required.


Perform any other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS


Bachelor’s degree in social work, Gender Studies, Human Rights, or a related field.
Previous experience working in protection, gender, or community development programs is preferred.
Strong understanding of protection principles, gender equality, and human rights.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and cultural sensitivity skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a challenging environment.
Fluency in Kanuri and Hausa is an advantage.
Proficiency in MS Office Suite and data management.
