Job Title: Account Manager - Solar (Healthcare & Education)
Location: Lagos Summary
The Account Manager - Solar (Healthcare & Education) will be responsible for driving B2B sales, business development, and account growth across the healthcare and education sectors. The role will focus on identifying and converting opportunities within private hospitals, specialist clinics, diagnostic centres, pharmaceutical chains, private schools, polytechnics, and universities. The successful candidate will build strong relationships with key decision-makers, understand customers' energy requirements, develop commercially viable solutions, and manage the sales process from prospecting through proposal development, negotiation, and closure.
Identify, prospect, and develop new business opportunities across the healthcare and education sectors. Build and manage a strong sales pipeline across private hospitals, specialist clinics, diagnostic and imaging centres, pharmaceutical chains, private schools, polytechnics, and universities. Assess power requirements and critical loads within healthcare facilities, including theatres, ICUs, pharmacies, cold-chain facilities, and laboratories. Assess energy requirements across educational facilities, including ICT laboratories, administrative blocks, hostels, security systems, and canteens. Engage key decision-makers, including Medical Directors, Hospital Administrators, Proprietors, Bursars, Estate Managers, and other relevant stakeholders. Leverage industry associations, professional networks, referrals, and sector relationships to generate qualified leads. Identify opportunities for multi-site and multi-campus deployments within healthcare and education groups.
Work closely with technical teams to develop energy solutions aligned with customers' power requirements, load profiles, uptime needs, and available space. Develop commercial proposals demonstrating energy cost savings, diesel displacement, ROI, and total cost of ownership. Structure proposals to support both outright purchase and financing options. Present commercial and technical proposals to senior management, hospital leadership, school proprietors, boards, and other decision-makers. Translate technical energy solutions into clear commercial and operational benefits for customers.
Build, maintain, and grow relationships with key decision-makers across assigned accounts. Manage existing accounts to drive customer satisfaction, retention, expansion, renewals, and referrals. Identify opportunities arising from warranty expiry, facility expansion, new developments, or increased energy requirements. Serve as the primary commercial point of contact for assigned accounts and coordinate the resolution of service-related issues with relevant internal teams. Proactively engage customers to identify additional energy requirements and cross-selling opportunities. Generate referrals and new business opportunities from satisfied customers.
Monitor developments within the healthcare and education sectors and identify emerging business opportunities. Track new hospital developments, school expansions, accreditation initiatives, and relevant infrastructure projects. Provide market intelligence and sector insights to support sales strategy and prospecting. Maintain accurate CRM records and submit daily, weekly, and monthly pipeline, activity, and revenue reports. Track sales performance against agreed targets and KPIs.
Requirements & Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Science, Engineering, or a related field. Minimum of 4 years' experience in B2B solution sales, consultative sales, account management, or business development within the Solar industry. Demonstrable experience selling to healthcare and/or educational institutions. Proven ability to manage complex, multi-stakeholder procurement and decision-making processes. Strong commercial and financial acumen, with the ability to develop ROI-based business cases and communicate value to CFOs, Bursars, Medical Directors, and other senior decision-makers. Excellent proposal writing, presentation, negotiation, and communication skills. Proficiency in CRM systems and sales reporting tools. Existing relationships with private hospital groups, diagnostic centres, pharmaceutical organisations, school networks, or educational institutions. Understanding of solar PV, battery storage, distributed energy, or energy management solutions is an advantage. Experience selling solutions through asset financing or structured financing models. Experience managing long sales cycles involving multiple decision-makers.
