The Account Manager - Solar (Office Buildings) will be responsible for driving B2B sales, business development, and account growth within the commercial real estate and corporate office segment. The role will focus on identifying and converting opportunities across commercial office towers, corporate headquarters, business parks, co-working spaces, and mixed-use developments. The successful candidate will build strong relationships with property developers, facility managers, real estate companies, and corporate occupiers, while positioning solar PV, battery storage, and energy management solutions as commercially viable solutions to their energy needs.
Identify, prospect, and develop new business opportunities across commercial office buildings and corporate real estate. Target office towers, corporate headquarters, business parks, co-working hubs, mixed-use developments, and other large commercial facilities. Assess customers' energy consumption, generator capacity, diesel expenditure, grid reliability, and sustainability requirements to develop compelling business cases. Build relationships with property developers and real estate investment companies to identify opportunities for energy solutions during the planning and development stages of new projects. Engage corporate occupiers, particularly professional services firms, banks, telecommunications companies, and multinational organisations. Identify opportunities for multi-building deployments across property groups and facility management portfolios. Build and manage a strong sales pipeline and consistently convert qualified opportunities into closed business.
Work closely with technical teams to scope energy solutions for commercial buildings, including rooftop solar PV, carport installations, battery storage, and grid/generator backup systems. Develop commercial models covering total cost of ownership, diesel cost displacement, capital expenditure, financing options, and payback periods. Develop proposals that clearly demonstrate financial, operational, and sustainability benefits to prospective customers. Prepare and present proposals and investment cases to senior management, boards, property owners, facility managers, and other key decision-makers. Translate technical energy solutions into clear commercial benefits for executive and non-technical audiences. Develop multi-site proposals for property groups, real estate companies, and facility management organisations.
Build, maintain, and grow relationships with key stakeholders across assigned accounts. Manage active office-building accounts to drive customer satisfaction, retention, expansion, and additional business opportunities. Identify opportunities arising from building upgrades, expansions, new developments, additional floors, new tenants, or corporate relocations. Monitor energy performance and customer outcomes and use relevant data to demonstrate savings and reinforce value. Identify cross-selling and upselling opportunities across existing accounts and corporate portfolios. Serve as the primary commercial contact for assigned accounts and coordinate the resolution of commercial or service issues with relevant internal teams. Develop long-term relationships with facility managers, estate companies, property developers, and corporate decision-makers.
Maintain accurate CRM records and submit daily, weekly, and monthly pipeline, activity, and revenue reports. Monitor commercial real estate developments, including new office buildings, refurbishments, expansions, and corporate relocations, and convert relevant developments into sales opportunities. Track competitor activity, market pricing, customer needs, and common objections within the corporate real estate segment. Provide market intelligence and sector insights to support business development and sales strategy. Monitor account performance and identify opportunities for portfolio expansion.
Requirements & Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Science, Engineering, or a related field. Minimum of 4 years of B2B sales experience within the solar industry, with at least 2 years of experience selling to commercial real estate, facility management, or corporate accounts in Nigeria. Proven track record of winning and managing high-value corporate accounts involving multiple stakeholders. Strong commercial and financial acumen, with the ability to develop and present investment cases, ROI models, payback analyses, and business proposals. Excellent proposal writing, presentation, negotiation, and communication skills. Proficiency in CRM systems and sales reporting platforms. Experience managing complex B2B sales cycles from prospecting through negotiation and closure. Experience selling large-ticket capital equipment, property technology, energy solutions, or other technical solutions within a corporate or commercial real estate environment. Understanding of solar PV, battery storage, distributed energy, or energy management systems is an advantage. Experience with asset financing or structured financing sales models.
