 Job Title: Account Officer

Location: Egbeda, Lagos

Employment Type: Full-time Job Summary

Oversee the Company's financial operations by ensuring accurate financial reporting, effective budgeting, cash flow management, and compliance with applicable accounting standards and statutory regulations. Manage project and property accounting, including monitoring development costs, construction expenditures, property sales, rental income, and profitability to support sound financial decision-making. Establish and maintain robust internal controls, accounting policies, and financial systems to safeguard Company assets, mitigate financial risks, and improve operational efficiency. Ensure timely preparation of financial statements, tax filings, statutory remittances, and audit requirements while maintaining compliance with ISO 9001:2015 standards for financial documentation and process control. Provide strategic financial leadership by supervising the accounting team, advising Management on financial performance and investment decisions, and supporting the achievement of the Company's business objectives.

Prepare and review financial statements, ensuring compliance with IFRS, statutory requirements, and Company policies. Oversee the general ledger, accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliations, and month-end/year-end closing processes. Monitor budgets, project costs, cash flow, and profitability, providing timely financial reports and variance analyses. Manage tax compliance, statutory filings, and internal/external audits, ensuring adherence to regulatory and ISO 9001:2015 requirements. Establish and maintain effective internal controls, accounting policies, and financial risk management systems. Support procurement and project teams with financial evaluations, payment schedules, and cost control. Lead, supervise, and mentor the accounting team while driving continuous improvement in financial processes and reporting.

Qualifications and Experience

ND or HND Accounting, Finance, or related field.

Minimum of 4 years experience in accounting. Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Sage, QuickBooks, or ERP systems) and MS Excel.
