Job Description
The Accountant will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, monitoring transactions, preparing financial reports, and supporting effective financial management of the company.
Key ResponsibilitiesMaintain accurate and up-to-date financial records and accounting documentation.
Record and reconcile daily financial transactions.
Prepare monthly financial statements, reports, and management accounts.
Monitor accounts payable and receivable and ensure timely payments and collections.
Prepare invoices, payment schedules, and other financial documents.
Monitor cash flow, expenses, and company budgets.
Reconcile bank statements and investigate discrepancies.
Assist with payroll, tax, statutory payments, and other financial obligations.
Support budgeting, cost control, and financial planning.
Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, tax regulations, and company policies.
Assist with internal and external audits.
Work closely with management and other departments to provide accurate financial information.
Perform other duties as assigned.
RequirementsBachelor's Degree or HND in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
2–5 years' relevant accounting experience.
Professional accounting qualification such as ICAN or ACCAis an added advantage.
Experience in the food processing, manufacturing, agriculture, or FMCG industry is a strong advantage.
Good knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, taxation, and reconciliation.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
Strong numerical, analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
High level of accuracy, integrity, and attention to detail.
