Develop your leadership capability while working directly with the Security Manager on terminal security strategy, priorities, and continuous-improvement initiatives. Gain broad exposure to physical security, cargo protection, access control, electronic security, incident management, regulatory compliance, and emergency preparedness. Collaborate with operational teams, management, regulators, law enforcement agencies, contractors, and security service providers. Contribute to improvements in security performance, technology, processes, regulatory compliance, and operational resilience.

Support the Security Manager in coordinating terminal-wide security operations and implementing the APMM Global Security Framework, Port Facility Security Plan, ISPS Code, APMT Ways of Working, and relevant regulatory requirements. Coordinate day-to-day activities for security personnel and contractors, including schedules, attendance, operational direction, training requirements, service standards, and corrective action for identified non-conformities. Identify security threats, incidents, and risk concerns proactively, activating appropriate response mechanisms and providing timely, accurate reporting to support operational continuity. Perform Alternate Port Facility Security Officer responsibilities and support the maintenance of the terminal’s ISPS accreditation in line with applicable legislation. Manage security communications, Control Room requirements, access control, surveillance activities, and security response coordination across the terminal. Develop and implement operational orders, security plans, procedures, drills, and testing activities, ensuring requirements are communicated and executed effectively. Build effective working relationships with Operations, HSSE, IT, HR, government security agencies, regulators, law enforcement, contractors, and other relevant stakeholders.

What We Are Looking For

Continuous improvement mindset: we are looking for someone who brings a thoughtful improvement mindset—curious about how work gets done and motivated to make meaningful, sustainable improvements over time. Bring a recognised Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent professional qualification in Security Management, Criminology, Risk Management, Sociology, Law Enforcement, Maritime Studies, or a related discipline. Demonstrate relevant experience in security operations, corporate security, law enforcement, military, maritime or port security, or a comparable high-risk operational environment. Apply practical knowledge of security risk assessment, incident management, investigations, access control, security reporting, and applicable legislation and industry standards. Supervise security personnel and service providers effectively, allocating resources, setting operational direction, monitoring performance, and maintaining appropriate standards of discipline and service. Communicate clearly with internal and external stakeholders and prepare accurate incident updates, investigation findings, security reports, KPI reports, presentations, and management briefings.
