 Job Title: Digital Communications & Content Manager

Location: Lagos Job Description

The Digital Communications and Content Manager is responsible for managing all internal and external content as well as the digital media strategies and platforms for HBM Nigeria Plc. The role holder will manage agencies contracted to provide graphic designs and print services. The role holder will work closely with other colleagues from multiple departments/functions to ensure that all key aspects of the operations are appropriately and fairly represented in all content. The role holder is also responsible to meet or exceed set targets while ensuring good quality, efficiency and consistency of messages that are aligned to the corporate brand of the company.

Job Responsibilties

Develop and manage all aspects of HBM Nigeria’s digital strategy including and websites, social media, digital tools and the intranet and monitor its effectiveness. Analyze relevant data and metrics, identifying new technologies and trends, and budget planning. Work and collaborate with other teams to promote HBM Nigeria’s products to the public using digital channels. Collaborate and work with teams to support HBM Nigeria’s efforts in Commercial (Sales & Marketing). Position HBM Nigeria’s website as a marketing tool and work with the brand team to ensure that the company’s image is projected positively to the public. Grow HBM Nigeria’s communities on Social media, collaborate with colleagues on digital initiatives and campaigns to achieve visibility, reach and robust impressions. Planning, management, monitoring & maintenance of websites including: main site, campaign sites, landing pages and microsites. Manage the day-to-day posting and advertising on social media – Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Linkedin and Youtube. Increase traffic to and SEO of the HBM Nigeria main website and support internal communications on driving traffic to the country intranet by developing a digital content strategy. Content creation: Write new content for social media posts, blogs and e-newsletters as needed. Creative support for teams within the business including designing graphics, video production, e-fliers, script writing etc. as required. Manage the Digital agency and consultants as required in line with HBM Nigeria standards and procedures. Create a social media and digital communications strategy for HBM Nigeria and ensure that all messages are consistent across all social media channels. Develop and manage an integrated communications approach using various online tools in relevant social media platforms. Conduct research, develop concepts and write compelling articles to successfully position and promote HBM Nigeria Plc on digital media platforms. Research and reports on industry, peer company news and announcements and digital and social media trends for the Organization. Serve as managing editor of digital communication materials; creating targeted contents aimed at various stakeholders. Interface with, and support, various functions to devise and develop social media campaign aimed at specific target audiences. Create and evaluate proposals for new ways to engage the social media towards ensuring increased visibility for HBM Nigeria Plc’s corporate and product brands. Ensure HBM Nigeria Plc’s approved digital content is available on cloud based applications for easy access to all stakeholders. Manage HBM Nigeria’s image and video bank. Manage corporate accounts in social media and ensure digital analysis for tracking, measuring and reporting data and traffic in order to evaluate impact on business objectives. Develop, roll-out and manage conflict resolution procedure in response to negative online feedback and to ensure quick resolution. Optimize existing channels and creatively develop new ones when required. Other tasks as required.


Content:

Develop, maintain and adjust content strategies and imperatives detailing the appropriate communication across HBM Nigeria Plc’s operations in Nigeria to relevant internal and external audiences Communicate the content strategy, tactics, and plan progress to internal business partners Develop and maintain weekly and monthly content calendars for internal and external audiences Coordinate collaboration with internal and external sources; compile necessary materials required for content development; participate in meetings to facilitate content discussion and ensure appropriate content development process is followed Ensure adequate reviews of all contents for accuracy; manage and facilitate the internal and external content review process, including review and adjudication of comments Master and maintain up to date knowledge of good content development practices and regulatory requirements; apply them in daily activities, including strategy development, tactical execution, team management Develop and maintain tools and processes, including efficient and effective tracking systems for content development Manage agencies, consultants, and writers according to HBM Nigeria stated procedures Develop key communication objectives to drive credible, fair balanced, timely publications Coordinate cross functional publication team meetings and activities Conduct audience research to understand target audience and optimize content accordingly Ensure timelines are met and quality standards are upheld.


Requirements
Education / Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field. An advanced degree or relevant professional certification is an added advantage.


Specific Work Experience:

Minimum of 5 years’ relevant professional experience, with at least 2 years’ experience in content planning and development. Demonstrable hands-on experience and expertise across multiple social media platforms and digital communication channels.


Technical / Functional Skills:

Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong knowledge of relevant internal and external guidelines, standards, and best practices governing content development and digital communications. Proficiency in design software, digital content creation tools, and online collaboration/data-sharing platforms. Demonstrated ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders. Experience in vendor management and coordination of external creative/content partners. Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships and networks across the organisation. Strong creative and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to translate business objectives into engaging content. Ability to develop, write, edit, and proofread content in line with organisational brand guidelines and tone of voice. Strong writing, editing, proofreading, and attention-to-detail skills. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritise multiple deliverables and meet deadlines. Proficiency in current design and content creation software. Familiarity with content management systems, social media management platforms, and digital analytics tools.
