The Dispatch Rider will be responsible for the safe, timely, and efficient delivery and collection of packages, documents, and other items on behalf of the company and its clients. The rider will ensure that all assigned deliveries are completed promptly while maintaining professional relationships with customers and adhering to all road safety and company requirements.

The Dispatch Rider will handle the collection, transportation, and delivery of parcels, documents, and other items to designated locations. The successful candidate must be familiar with local routes, traffic conditions, and road safety regulations and must demonstrate a high level of responsibility, punctuality, and professionalism.

Pick up and deliver parcels, documents, and other items to customers and designated locations. Ensure all deliveries are completed safely, accurately, and within the agreed timeframe. Confirm the identity and delivery details of recipients before handing over packages. Obtain proof of delivery, signatures, or other required delivery confirmation. Handle packages carefully to prevent damage, loss, or misplacement. Maintain accurate records of all assigned deliveries and collections. Report completed, pending, unsuccessful, or delayed deliveries to the supervisor. Collect payments or documents from customers when assigned and properly account for them. Maintain regular communication with the Operations/Supervisor throughout delivery assignments. Plan delivery routes effectively to minimise delays and unnecessary fuel consumption. Ensure the motorcycle is kept clean, roadworthy, and properly maintained. Carry out routine checks on the motorcycle, including tyres, brakes, lights, engine oil, and fuel levels. Report mechanical faults or maintenance requirements immediately. Comply with all traffic laws, road safety regulations, and company policies. Maintain confidentiality and ensure customer packages and information are handled securely. Demonstrate professional and courteous behaviour when dealing with customers. Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Minimum of SSCE / WAEC / NECO or equivalent. Additional training or certification in logistics, transportation, or delivery services is an advantage.

1 – 2 years of experience as a Dispatch Rider, Delivery Rider, Courier Rider, or in a similar role. Previous experience with a logistics, courier, transportation, or e-commerce company will be an added advantage. Experience handling customer deliveries and proof-of-delivery documentation is desirable. Good knowledge of the local operating area is an advantage.

Must possess a valid motorcycle riding licence. Must have a valid means of identification. Must be physically fit and capable of riding for extended periods. Must have a good knowledge of the operating area. Must demonstrate a good understanding of road safety regulations. Must be reliable, punctual, honest, and responsible. Must have a smartphone and be comfortable using navigation applications. Must be willing to work flexible hours, including weekends or public holidays when required. Must have a clean and responsible riding record. Previous logistics or courier experience will be an added advantage. Must be willing to comply with all company safety and operational procedures.

Ability to work under pressure and meet delivery deadlines. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Strong customer service skills. Ability to follow instructions accurately. Good problem-solving and decision-making skills. High level of responsibility and attention to detail. Ability to use smartphones, Google Maps, GPS, and delivery applications. Ability to maintain accurate delivery records.
