Job Description
We are seeking a responsible, reliable, and experienced Driver to support our logistics operations in Lagos and Port Harcourt.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and timely transportation and delivery of packages, documents, and other company items while ensuring proper handling of company vehicles.
Key ResponsibilitiesSafely transport and deliver packages, documents, and other assigned items to designated locations.
Ensure timely pickup and delivery of packages in line with operational schedules.
Plan and follow efficient routes to ensure timely deliveries.
Maintain accurate records of trips, mileage, fuel usage, and deliveries.
Conduct daily vehicle checks and report faults or maintenance needs promptly.
Keep the assigned vehicle clean, safe, and in good working condition.
Adhere to all traffic laws, road safety regulations, and company policies.
Handle packages and company property responsibly and securely.
Assist with loading and unloading packages where required.
Report delays, accidents, vehicle faults, or other incidents to the appropriate supervisor.
Use navigation tools such as Google Maps to identify efficient routes.
Work closely with the Operations and Logistics teams to ensure smooth delivery operations.
Perform other duties as assigned by management.
EducationMinimum of an SSCE/WAEC/NECO.
Defensive driving training or certification is an added advantage.
Experience:2 - 5 years of professional driving experience.
Previous experience with a logistics, courier, delivery, transportation, or e-commerce company is an added advantage.
Experience handling multiple deliveries and navigating busy urban routes is preferred.
Other Requirements:Must possess a valid Nigerian driver's licence appropriate for the assigned vehicle.
Must have a good driving record.
Must be familiar with the routes and major locations within Lagos or Port Harcourt.
Must be punctual, trustworthy, disciplined, and responsible.
Must be willing to work flexible hours based on operational requirements.
Must be willing to travel when required.
Must demonstrate professionalism and a high level of integrity.
Must comply with all company safety and operational policies.
Required Skills:Excellent driving and vehicle-handling skills.
Good knowledge of routes within Lagos or Port Harcourt.
Good knowledge of road safety and traffic regulations.
Ability to use Google Maps and other navigation applications.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong time-management and organizational skills.
Ability to work under pressure and meet delivery timelines.
Reliability, punctuality, and a strong sense of responsibility.
Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting.
Good customer service skills.
