Role Summary
This is not a routine accounts role. Accurate records and reconciliations are expected, but the value lies in explaining what the figures mean for cash, revenue, cost, profitability, performance, and growth.
The Finance and Management Reporting Officer will turn data into forecasts, financial models, management reports, and recommendations that support decisions.
The role requires curiosity, judgement, commercial awareness, and the ability to work through incomplete information.
The successful candidate must identify the real issue, test assumptions, connect financial results to business activity, and present a clear position to management.
What You Will Do
Financial Intelligence and Management Advisory:Analyse financial and operational data to identify the drivers of revenue, cost, cash flow, margin, and profitability.
Investigate unusual movements, weak performance, financial risks, and improvement opportunities; challenge unsupported assumptions and recommend practical action.
Prepare scenario analyses and business cases for pricing, investment, resource allocation, new programmes, and other management decisions.
Management Reporting and Forecasting:Prepare monthly management accounts, rolling cash-flow forecasts, budgets, and revenue, cost, margin, and profitability reports.
Design concise dashboards and performance indicators that give management visibility across services, programmes, and business lines.
Explain variances, update assumptions as conditions change, and present decision-focused reports that show management what is likely to happen next.
Financial Systems and Business Support:Review finance processes, controls, and reporting practices, diagnose gaps, and implement workable improvements.
Build adaptable models and reporting tools for budgeting, working capital, receivables, cost control, break-even analysis, and profitability using Zoho Books, Excel or Google Sheets, and appropriate automation.
Finance Operations and Control:Maintain reliable accounting records, management schedules, reconciliations, and supporting documentation in Zoho Books.
Manage receivables, payables, approved payments, payroll inputs, statutory obligations, and audit support; follow up on collections and raise unresolved exceptions early.
Prepare budgets, break-even projections, and post-delivery profitability reviews for training programmes and other projects.
How Success Will Be Measured
Quality and usefulness of financial analysis, forecasts, models, management reports, and recommendations.
Early identification of financial risks, performance gaps, and improvement opportunities.
Visibility of cash flow, working capital, cost, margin, and profitability across the business.
Improvement in financial reporting tools, processes, controls, and management response time.
Accuracy of records and compliance with reconciliation, tax, payroll, audit, and control deadlines.
Required Experience
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field.
Minimum of 4 years' relevant experience in management accounting, financial planning and analysis, commercial finance, business partnering, advisory, or a similar role.
Demonstrated evidence of building financial models, forecasts, dashboards, and management reports that led to a recommendation or decision.
Advanced Excel or Google Sheets capability and practical experience with Zoho Books or another cloud accounting platform.
Strong written and verbal presentation skills. ICAN, ACCA, CIMA, or another recognised professional qualification, completed or in progress, will be an advantage.

Commercially minded and able to connect business activity with cash flow, cost, margin, profitability, and risk.
Able to move between detailed records and the wider business picture and form a reasoned view from incomplete information.
