 Job Title: Floor Manager

Location: Lagos

Employment Type: Full-time Key Responsibilities

Oversee the smooth running of the lounge, bar, or assigned operational floor. Ensure the floor is properly set up, clean, organised, and ready for business before opening. Monitor service throughout the day and promptly address operational issues. Ensure company procedures and service standards are consistently followed.

Supervise waiters, bartenders, hosts/hostesses, runners, and other floor staff. Allocate duties and workstations according to operational needs. Monitor staff attendance, punctuality, grooming, uniforms, and general conduct. Provide guidance and coaching to improve staff performance. Address minor staff issues and escalate serious or recurring matters to HR/Management.

Ensure guests receive professional, courteous, and timely service. Monitor guest satisfaction and respond promptly to complaints or concerns. Resolve service-related issues professionally while protecting the company's interests. Welcome and interact with guests where necessary and maintain good customer relationships. Monitor VIP and special guests in accordance with company policies.

Monitor food and beverage service to ensure orders are accurate and delivered promptly. Coordinate effectively between the kitchen, bar, cashier, and service teams. Ensure tables and service areas, are properly maintained. Monitor portion presentation, cleanliness, service etiquette, and overall guest experience.

Encourage staff to promote appropriate food, beverages, activities, and special offers. Monitor sales activities and identify opportunities to increase revenue. Ensure minimum-spend requirements, table policies, and other commercial procedures are properly implemented. Monitor complimentary items, discounts, voids, and other exceptions in accordance with company policy.

Monitor the availability of operational items required for service. Report shortages, damaged equipment, or maintenance issues promptly. Work with relevant departments to ensure adequate supplies are available. Help minimise wastage, breakages, and unnecessary costs.

Health, Safety & Hygiene:

Ensure staff comply with food safety, hygiene, health, and safety requirements. Monitor cleanliness of guest and service areas. Report hazards, accidents, damaged equipment, or safety concerns immediately.

Ensure floor staff follow approved payment procedures. Monitor transactions and immediately report discrepancies or suspicious activities. Ensure unauthorised discounts, complimentary items, or cancellations are not granted. Coordinate with the Accounts/Cashier team where clarification is required.

Conduct or supervise opening checks before operations commence. Ensure all assigned areas are properly closed and secured at the end of the shift. Verify that equipment, furniture, service items, and operational areas are properly accounted for. Complete shift reports and communicate outstanding issues to Management.

Report guest complaints, staff issues, incidents, shortages, damages, and other operational concerns. Provide Management with feedback on service performance and areas requiring improvement.
