Frontend Engineer (Hybrid) Lagos

 Job Title: Frontend Engineer

Location: Lagos (Hybrid) The Role

We are looking for an experienced HR Business Partner to join our team. You will be the primary people partner to our business leaders, translating Mida's growth ambitions into people strategies that attract, develop, and retain exceptional talent. This is a hands-on role - you will be equally comfortable advising a manager on a difficult conversation and designing a performance management framework from scratch.

What You Will Do

Partner closely with department heads and team leads to understand their hiring needs, team dynamics, and people challenges, and provide proactive, practical HR guidance Own the end-to-end  recruitment process - from writing job descriptions and managing pipelines to offer negotiation and onboarding - ensuring a consistent and positive candidate experience Lead performance management cycles, including goal-setting, mid-year reviews, and appraisals, and coach managers on giving effective feedback Develop and implement HR policies, processes, and frameworks that are compliant with Nigerian labour law and fit for a scaling technology company Manage employee relations matters with discretion and fairness, including disciplinary processes, grievances, and performance improvement plans Drive employee engagement initiatives - pulse surveys, recognition programmes, team events - and translate feedback into actionable plans Work with finance and leadership on compensation benchmarking, payroll inputs, and benefits administration Maintain accurate HR records, contracts, and documentation, and ensure compliance with all statutory requirements (PAYE, pension, NSITF, ITF, etc.) Support leadership on organisational design, restructuring, and workforce planning as the company scales Champion Mida's culture and values in every interaction, and help new hires feel connected to the mission from day one.

What We Are Looking For

A degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or a related field; CIPM, SHRM, or CIPD membership is an advantage. 3–8 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 2 years in a business partner or generalist role in a technology, fintech, or fast-growing startup environment Solid working knowledge of Nigerian labour law and HR compliance requirements Proven track record managing full-cycle recruitment across technical and non-technical roles Strong interpersonal and communication skills - you can influence senior stakeholders and have difficult conversations with empathy and clarity Hands-on and execution-focused - you do not wait to be asked and you follow through on commitments Comfortable with ambiguity and able to prioritise effectively in a dynamic environment Proficiency with HR tools (ATS, HRIS, Google Workspace or equivalent).

Salary: N400,000 - N500,000 per month.
