We are  recruiting to fill the position below:

 Job Title: Head Bartender & Wine Steward

Location: Gwarinpa, Abuja (FCT) 

Employment Type: Full-time - shift-based (evenings, weekends & public holidays)

Reports to: General Manager.

Directly manages: The Bartender. Core Purpose

Lead the entire beverage programme. Design the drinks menu, curate the wine list, deliver precise and stylish service, and build a professional bar team Own everything guests drink and help create systems that allow the Cedar Grillz beverage offering to scale nationally and internationally.

Design and refresh the cocktail, mocktail, spirits, beer and wine menus, including signature drinks Curate a balanced wine list across price points and manage proper storage, service and pairings Lead bar service with speed, consistency, showmanship and excellent guest engagement Train and coach the Bartender and floor team on drinks knowledge and service Control bar stock, pour costs, wastage and inventory with regular stock counts Ensure accurate POS recording and support cash reconciliation Uphold responsible alcohol service, hygiene and safety standards Support marketing with content and help position Cedar Grillz as a leading drinks destination.

Minimum: OND / HND or Diploma in Hospitality/Catering + professional bartending certificate Preferred: Bachelor’s degree + WSET Level 2 (or higher) in Wines; Court of Master Sommeliers is a strong advantage Required: Professional Bartending/Mixology certificate, Responsible Service of Alcohol, Food Safety & Hygiene 5 - 7 years professional bartending experience, with at least 2 years in a senior/head bartender role Strong knowledge of cocktails, spirits, wine service and food pairings Experience creating menus, managing stock/costs and leading a team. Minimum age: 21.

Uniform provided; high grooming and presentation standards apply Physically demanding (long standing hours, lifting, lively environment).
