Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented HVAC Designer to join our engineering team in the Ogere/Sagamu area. In this position, you will be responsible for planning, designing, and optimizing heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration (HVAC) systems for commercial, industrial, and residential projects.
You will ensure all designs meet energy-efficiency standards, regulatory building codes, and project specifications.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
HVAC System Design: Perform heating and cooling load calculations, ductwork sizing, piping design, and airflow distribution layouts for diverse building types.
Technical Drafting & Modeling: Produce comprehensive 2D HVAC layouts and 3D models including schematic diagrams, mechanical room layouts, and installation details using CAD/BIM software.
Equipment Selection: Select and specify appropriate HVAC equipment (chillers, AHUs, FCUs, split systems, exhaust fans, pumps, etc.) based on calculated load requirements and client specifications.
Cross-Discipline Coordination: Collaborate closely with architects, structural engineers, electrical engineers, and project managers to prevent design conflicts and ensure smooth integration on site.
Compliance & Efficiency: Ensure all designs conform to local building regulations, international standards (e.g., ASHRAE), safety protocols, and energy-efficiency guidelines.
Site Inspections & Support: Perform periodic site visits to inspect ongoing installations, ensure adherence to approved HVAC drawings, and address technical issues on-site.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education: Bachelor’s Degree (B.Sc./B.Eng.) or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
Experience: Minimum of 4-8years of practical experience in HVAC system design and MEP engineering.
Technical Skills:Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit MEP, Carrier HAP (Hourly Analysis Program), or other HVAC design and load calculation tools.
Strong knowledge of HVAC fundamentals, psychrometrics, fluid dynamics, and thermodynamics.
Ability to read and interpret complex mechanical, architectural, and structural blueprints.
Soft Skills: Strong analytical capabilities, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage time effectively to meet project deadlines.
Location: Must be based in or willing to commute comfortably to the Ogere / Sagamu axis.
Salary Range
N170,000 - N250,000 / month (Commensurate with experience and skills).
