Ereyi Ventures Nigeria Limited is an indigenous Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Logistics (EPCL) contractor providing integrated technical services to the Nigerian oil and gas industry. The company brings a multidisciplinary team of engineering, inspection, and construction professionals to deliver brownfield and greenfield projects across onshore and offshore facilities, with a focus on asset integrity, tank and vessel upgrades, mechanical and instrumentation works, and terminal automation. Leveraging local content expertise alongside international codes and standards (API, ASME, NACE/AMPP, and IEC), Ereyi Ventures is positioned to execute the Automated Crude Oil Storage Tanks Upgrade and Repair Services at an offshore terminal, combining indigenous capacity with the technical rigor required for safety-critical hydrocarbon storage infrastructure.  Job Title: Instrumentation and Control Technician

Location: Offshore, Delta  Role Objective

Install, calibrate, test and troubleshoot field instrumentation and control interfaces supporting safe and reliable crude-oil tank operation.

Core Roles and Responsibilities

Install, terminate, calibrate, and loop-check field instrumentation (level, pressure, temperature, flow) associated with crude oil storage tank upgrades. Carry out installation and hook-up of radar tank gauges, servo gauges, temperature multi-element sensors, and overfill prevention switches per approved isometrics and hook-up drawings. Perform functional testing of instrument loops, including simulation of process values and verification of alarm/trip set-points against approved Cause & Effect documentation. Support fault-finding and troubleshooting on instrumentation and control circuits during commissioning, including intrinsically safe (IS) barrier circuits. Terminate and test junction boxes, marshalling cabinets, and multicore cable runs between field instruments and the control system. Maintain accurate red-line markups of instrument drawings and update as-built documentation daily. Assist Instrumentation & Control Engineer in FAT/SAT witnessing and punch-list closure. Strictly comply with hazardous area work permits, hot/cold work procedures, and gas testing requirements prior to any instrument installation activity.

Qualifications and Requirements

Technician-grade roles on this scope carry direct accountability for overfill-prevention functionality; requirements are set accordingly high. Higher National Diploma (HND) or B.Eng. in Electrical/Electronic or Instrumentation Engineering — Ordinary National Diploma (OND) holders will only be considered with a minimum of ten (10) years verifiable hands-on experience and must additionally hold a City & Guilds or equivalent internationally recognized trade certification. Six (6) years’ hands-on field instrumentation experience in oil & gas, with at least four (4) years specifically on tank gauging/overfill prevention systems on live crude storage facilities. Mandatory possession of a valid Instrument Fitter/Technician trade certification from a recognized body (e.g., NABTEB, City & Guilds, or international equivalent) — no informally acquired ('on-the-job only') competency will be accepted without formal certification. CompEx Ex01–Ex04 certification (hazardous area installation and inspection) is mandatory and must be current — expired certificates must be renewed prior to application submission. Demonstrated proficiency with HART communicators, loop calibrators, and multifunction process calibrators, evidenced by a practical bench test to be administered at interview. Minimum three (3) verifiable offshore tours of duty on tank farm, terminal, or FPSO topsides instrumentation work — inland/swamp-only experience does not satisfy this requirement. Valid BOSIET/HUET, offshore medical fitness certificate, and full physical fitness to work at height and in confined spaces (independently verified via a fit-to-work medical, not self-declared). Must pass a hands-on practical assessment (live loop-check simulation) during the interview process; theoretical knowledge alone will not suffice.

Qualifications and professional certifications must be issued by recognised bodies, current where applicable, and independently verifiable. Expired, unverifiable or attendance-only certificates will not satisfy a mandatory requirement. Candidates must demonstrate recent experience on comparable oil and gas projects. Generic construction experience without direct tank, terminal, refinery, process-plant or offshore exposure will not be accepted. Candidates must be able to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, inspection and test plans, permits, risk assessments and applicable codes, and must produce clear technical reports in English. Candidates must demonstrate strong process-safety awareness, stop-work discipline, quality ownership and effective collaboration in a live brownfield environment. All offshore survival, medical and safety credentials specified for the role must be valid before mobilisation.
