Job Title: Lab Analyst
Location: Abia
Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Lab Analyst role based in Abia State, Nigeria.
The Lab Analyst will perform routine and specialized laboratory tests on raw materials and finished animal feed products to ensure they meet quality and safety standards.
Daily tasks include preparing samples, conducting chemical and physical analyses, recording and interpreting test results, and maintaining accurate documentation for quality control and regulatory compliance.
The individual will calibrate and operate laboratory equipment, adhere to standard operating procedures, and support investigations into product quality issues or process improvements. The role also involves collaborating with production and quality assurance teams to provide timely analytical feedback that supports consistent product performance.
QualificationsA relevant Diploma or Degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Animal Science, Food Science, or a related field is preferred.
Candidates should possess strong laboratory and analytical skills, including experience with sample preparation, chemical analysis, and use of basic lab equipment.
Candidates should possess quality control and assurance skills, such as understanding of testing protocols, data recording, and compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
Candidates should possess technical and documentation skills, including attention to detail, accurate record-keeping, and ability to interpret and report laboratory results clearly.
Candidates should possess collaboration and problem-solving skills, including the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and support process and product improvements.
Previous experience in a manufacturing, feed, food, or agricultural laboratory environment is an advantage.
Familiarity with safety protocols, use of personal protective equipment, and adherence to good laboratory practices is required.
Basic computer skills for data entry, reporting, and use of laboratory information systems will be beneficial.
