Job Summary
A private family in Ikoyi is seeking a responsible, educated or fairly educated and well-spoken Live-In Nanny to provide attentive care and support for two children, aged 5 and 8.
The ideal candidate should be warm, patient, responsible, well-presented and comfortable engaging school-aged children in meaningful and age-appropriate activities.
She should also be able to communicate clearly and assist with the children's meals and daily routines.
Key ResponsibilitiesProvide attentive and responsible care for the two children.
Support the children's morning, after-school and evening routines.
Assist with preparing, serving and supervising the children's meals.
Engage the children in educational, creative and recreational activities.
Encourage reading, learning, conversation and other age-appropriate activities.
Support the children with homework or school-related activities where required.
Ensure the children's rooms, play areas and personal belongings are kept neat and organized.
Assist with the children's laundry and basic personal care as required.
Monitor the children's safety and wellbeing at all times.
Encourage good manners, discipline, hygiene and positive behaviour.
Provide companionship and maintain a warm, respectful relationship with the children.
Communicate appropriately with the parents regarding the children's routines, needs and general wellbeing.
Ideal Candidate
The preferred candidate should:Be between 30 and 35 years old.
Have previous experience caring for school-aged children.
Be educated or fairly educated and able to understand and follow instructions.
Speak good, clear English and communicate confidently.
Be patient, responsible, emotionally mature and dependable.
Be warm and engaging, with the ability to keep children meaningfully occupied.
Have good personal hygiene and maintain a neat, presentable appearance.
Be organized and attentive to details.
Be respectful of privacy and comfortable working within a private household.
Demonstrate genuine interest in childcare rather than simply performing routine household duties.
Preferred Qualities:The family is particularly interested in someone who is smart, proactive, calm, nurturing and engaging, with good judgment and the ability to take initiative while respecting the parents' instructions.
SalaryN150,000 – N180,000 monthly, depending on experience and suitability.
