 Job Title: Loan Officer

Employment Type: Full-time The Role

As a Loan Officer, you will be responsible for supporting the growth and quality of Mivale's loan portfolio by identifying prospective customers, assessing creditworthiness, processing loan applications, monitoring active accounts and driving timely repayments. This role is ideal for someone who is commercially driven, analytical, customer-focused and highly accountable, with the ability to build relationships while maintaining sound credit and risk discipline.

Identify and acquire qualified prospective borrowers through approved channels. Engage customers, understand their financial needs and provide appropriate loan solutions. Collect and verify customer information and supporting documentation. Conduct preliminary credit assessments in line with Mivale's lending policies and procedures. Process loan applications accurately and within agreed turnaround times. Maintain accurate and up-to-date customer and loan records. Monitor assigned loan accounts and proactively follow up on upcoming and overdue repayments. Maintain strong relationships with borrowers throughout the loan lifecycle. Conduct responsible and professional collections activities. Escalate delinquent accounts, suspicious activities and material risks promptly. Work towards assigned portfolio, disbursement, repayment and recovery targets. Prepare and maintain accurate portfolio reports. Collaborate with Credit, Operations, Collections and other relevant teams to improve portfolio performance. Identify trends, customer concerns and potential risks and communicate them to management. Ensure strict adherence to Mivale's policies, procedures, ethical standards and regulatory requirements.

What We're Looking For

Bachelor's Degree / HND in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, Marketing or a related field with1 – 3 years' experience in lending, microfinance, fintech, banking, credit, collections or a related financial-services environment. Good understanding of credit assessment and loan processes. Strong customer relationship and communication skills. Excellent negotiation and persuasion skills. Good numerical and analytical ability. Strong attention to detail and documentation. Target-driven and comfortable working in a performance-oriented environment. Ability to manage multiple customer accounts and priorities. Proficiency in Microsoft Office/Google Workspace; familiarity with loan management or CRM systems is an advantage. High level of integrity, discretion and financial responsibility.
