Job Summary
We are seeking a qualified and responsible Locum Pharmacist to provide temporary pharmacy services and ensure the safe, effective, and efficient dispensing of medications.
The ideal candidate will be patient-focused, detail-oriented, and able to work independently while maintaining professional and regulatory standards.
Key ResponsibilitiesDispense prescription and over-the-counter medications accurately and safely.
Review prescriptions for appropriate dosage, interactions, contraindications, and potential errors.
Provide patients with clear information on medication use, dosage, side effects, and precautions.
Counsel patients and respond to medication-related enquiries.
Monitor and maintain proper storage and handling of medicines.
Ensure accurate documentation of prescriptions, medication records, and inventory.
Monitor stock levels and assist with inventory management and reordering.
Ensure compliance with pharmacy laws, professional standards, and organizational policies.
Collaborate with doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals when necessary.
Identify and report medication-related issues or adverse drug reactions.
Maintain a clean, organized, and professional pharmacy environment.
RequirementsBachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm) or Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D) from a recognized institution.
Must be registered with the Pharmacists Council of Nigeria (PCN)and hold a valid practicing licence.
Previous experience in a hospital, community, or retail pharmacy is an advantage.
Strong knowledge of medications, dispensing procedures, and pharmaceutical care.
Excellent communication and patient-service skills.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to work independently and adapt quickly to a temporary/locum role.
