We are seeking a detail-oriented and efficient Maintenance Officer to join our organisation in Benin City, Nigeria. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating all aspects of facility maintenance to ensure a safe, functional, and well-maintained working environment.

Develop and implement comprehensive preventive maintenance programmes for all building systems and equipment Conduct regular inspections of facilities to identify maintenance needs and potential safety hazards Coordinate and oversee maintenance and repair work, ensuring timely completion and adherence to quality standards Manage and prioritize maintenance requests from staff and students  Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inventory, and expenses Ensure compliance with all relevant safety regulations and building codes Collaborate with external contractors and service providers when necessary Prepare and manage maintenance budgets, optimizing costs without compromising quality Participate in long-term planning for facility improvements and upgrades.

Bachelor's Degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, or a related field Minimum 3-5 years of experience in facility maintenance or a related role Proficiency in maintenance management systems and Microsoft Office suite Strong knowledge of building systems, including HVAC, electrical, and plumbing Demonstrated ability to read and interpret technical manuals and blueprints Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to maintenance issues Strong organisational and time management skills Outstanding written and verbal communication abilities In-depth understanding of safety regulations and preventive maintenance practices Familiarity with local building codes and regulations in Benin City, Nigeria is advantageous.
