We are seeking a skilled and hands-on Mechanical Fitter / Technician to join our maintenance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and supporting production machinery, utilities, and other mechanical systems to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operations. The ideal candidate should have practical experience in mechanical maintenance, equipment repairs, preventive maintenance, and fault diagnosis within a manufacturing, production, industrial, or similar environment.

Carry out mechanical maintenance, repairs, adjustments, and installations on plant and production equipment. Diagnose mechanical faults and identify root causes of equipment breakdowns. Replace worn, damaged, or defective mechanical components. Perform fitting, alignment, lubrication, bearing replacement, and other mechanical maintenance activities. Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns to minimize production downtime.

Provide technical support to production operations and ensure machinery remains available and reliable. Inspect machinery and identify potential mechanical issues before they result in breakdowns. Assist with equipment installation, commissioning, modification, and relocation where required. Work closely with production teams to resolve equipment-related issues.

Maintain and support mechanical components of plant utility systems and auxiliary equipment. Assist with maintenance of pumps, compressors, conveyors, motors, piping systems, valves, and related equipment. Conduct routine inspections and report abnormalities or potential failures.

Execute scheduled preventive maintenance activities in accordance with maintenance plans. Inspect, service, lubricate, and adjust equipment as required. Maintain accurate maintenance records and update equipment history. Identify recurring faults and recommend corrective actions.

Complete maintenance reports, work orders, checklists, and equipment logs accurately. Report equipment faults, completed repairs, spare-parts requirements, and outstanding maintenance issues. Maintain proper records of preventive and corrective maintenance activities.

Follow all company health, safety, environmental, and operational procedures. Use appropriate PPE and ensure safe working practices during maintenance activities. Apply proper lockout/tagout and isolation procedures where applicable. Report unsafe conditions, equipment hazards, and incidents promptly. Maintain a clean and organized work area.

Work collaboratively with engineers, technicians, operators, production personnel, and contractors. Communicate equipment issues and maintenance requirements effectively. Support maintenance improvement initiatives and reliability programs. Assist other members of the engineering/maintenance team when required.

Perform other duties and responsibilities as may reasonably be assigned by the Maintenance/Engineering Manager.

Requirements & Qualifications

OND, HND, City & Guilds, Trade Test, or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Fitting, Plant Maintenance, or a related field. 2–5 years of relevant hands-on mechanical maintenance experience, preferably in a manufacturing, production, industrial, or FMCG environment. Strong practical knowledge of mechanical equipment, tools, and maintenance techniques. Experience with pumps, bearings, gearboxes, conveyors, valves, shafts, couplings, and related mechanical systems is an advantage. Ability to read and interpret basic mechanical drawings and equipment manuals. Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Good safety awareness and attention to detail. Willingness to work shifts, weekends, or overtime when required.
