Ereyi Ventures Nigeria Limited is an indigenous Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Logistics (EPCL) contractor providing integrated technical services to the Nigerian oil and gas industry. The company brings a multidisciplinary team of engineering, inspection, and construction professionals to deliver brownfield and greenfield projects across onshore and offshore facilities, with a focus on asset integrity, tank and vessel upgrades, mechanical and instrumentation works, and terminal automation. Leveraging local content expertise alongside international codes and standards (API, ASME, NACE/AMPP, and IEC), Ereyi Ventures is positioned to execute the Automated Crude Oil Storage Tanks Upgrade and Repair Services at an offshore terminal, combining indigenous capacity with the technical rigour required for safety-critical hydrocarbon storage infrastructure.  Job Title: Nondestructive Testing Specialist

Location: Offshore, Delta  Role Objective

Plan, supervise, and technically validate the nondestructive examination programme for tank plates, welds, piping, structures, and repairs.

Core Roles and Responsibilities

Plan and execute the full suite of Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) methods on crude storage tanks and associated piping, including UT thickness surveys, Magnetic Flux Leakage (MFL) floor scanning, Phased Array UT (PAUT), Time of Flight Diffraction (TOFD), Magnetic Particle Inspection (MPI), and Radiographic Testing (RT). Interpret and report NDT results in accordance with API 650/653, ASME Section V, and project-specific acceptance criteria, flagging any indications requiring engineering disposition. Supervise and technically direct NDT Level I/II technicians on-site, reviewing and countersigning all inspection reports before issue. Coordinate radiography operations under strict radiation safety protocols, including exclusion zone management and liaison with the Nigerian Nuclear Regulatory Authority (NNRA) where applicable. Develop NDT procedures and technique sheets specific to tank shell, floor, and weld repair inspection scope, subject to client/third-party approval. Support the API 653 Tank Inspector and Metallurgist with correlation of NDT findings to corrosion mechanisms and fitness-for-service determinations. Maintain full NDT equipment calibration records and ensure all instrumentation is certified traceable to national/international standards. Conduct acoustic emission testing (AET) where required for pressure vessel/tank integrity verification without full shutdown.

Qualifications and Requirements

NDT sign-off underpins every repair decision on this project; qualification requirements are correspondingly exhaustive.

HND/B.Sc. in Physics, Materials Science, Mechanical, or Metallurgical Engineering — candidates without a relevant technical degree will only be considered with NDT Level III certification and a minimum of twenty (20) years of experience. Mandatory: current NDT Level II certification (per ASNT SNT-TC-1A or ISO 9712) in a minimum of FOUR methods: UT, MPI, RT, and PT — additional certification in PAUT, TOFD, or MFL is required and will be weighted heavily above candidates without these advanced methods. NDT Level III certification in at least one method is strongly preferred and will be scored significantly above Level II-only candidates for this senior specialist role. Ten (10) years of hands-on NDT experience in oil & gas, with a minimum of six (6) years specifically on storage tank inspection (floor MFL scanning and shell UT surveys); pipeline-only or structural-only NDT experience does not fully satisfy this requirement. Valid radiography safety certification/license appropriate for Nigerian regulatory requirements (NNRA), with demonstrated experience managing radiation exclusion zones on live operational sites. Demonstrated, verifiable experience operating MFL tank floor scanning equipment (e.g., Silverwing, Team Industrial Services systems) on a minimum of five prior tank floor inspection campaigns, independently verifiable via client reference letters. Minimum four (4) years offshore/marine terminal-specific NDT experience. Valid BOSIET/HUET, confined space entry certification, offshore medical fitness certificate, and full physical capability for confined space tank entry work. Must pass a hands-on practical NDT assessment (live UT thickness survey and defect sizing exercise) as part of the selection process — certification alone will not be accepted as sufficient evidence of competence.
