The Youth and Women Peacebuilding Foundation (YAWP Foundation) is a Nigerian-based non-profit organisation incorporated in May 2026, dedicated to building lasting peace and empowering vulnerable communities. We focus on youth, women, and other marginalised groups in fragile and conflict-affected areas. Ouroverall goal is to promote sustainable peace, reduce conflict and violence, and empower individuals and communities, especially youth, women, and vulnerable groups, to achieve economic self-reliance and social cohesion through inclusive development and livelihood opportunities. We are  recruiting to fill the position below:

 Job Title: People & Culture Officer- Volunteer Freejob posting

Location:  Plateau

Employment Type: Volunteer Job Purpose

The People & Culture Officer will support the effective management and development of YAWP Foundation’s workforce by promoting a positive, inclusive, ethical, and professional organizational culture. The officer will coordinate HR processes, staff welfare, performance management, learning and development, and employee engagement.


Key Responsibilities

Support recruitment, onboarding, induction, and staff orientation. Maintain accurate and confidential personnel records and HR documentation. Coordinate staff performance management and appraisal processes. Support staff training, capacity development, and learning initiatives. Promote staff wellbeing, inclusion, teamwork, and a positive workplace culture. Support implementation of HR policies, Code of Conduct, Safeguarding Policy, and other organizational policies. Handle routine staff queries and support resolution of workplace concerns. Monitor attendance, leave, contracts, and other staff administration matters. Support staff engagement activities and internal communication. Prepare periodic HR and people-management reports for management.


Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree/HND in Human Resources, Business Administration, Management, Social Sciences, or a related field. Minimum of 2 years’ relevant experience in HR, people management, or administration, preferably within an NGO/CSO or development organization. Good knowledge of HR practices, employee relations, and organizational policies. Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive staff information professionally. Proficiency in Microsoft Office/Google Workspace. Knowledge of Nigerian labour and employment practices is an advantage.
