Ereyi Ventures Nigeria Limited is an indigenous Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Logistics (EPCL) contractor providing integrated technical services to the Nigerian oil and gas industry. The company brings a multidisciplinary team of engineering, inspection, and construction professionals to deliver brownfield and greenfield projects across onshore and offshore facilities, with a focus on asset integrity, tank and vessel upgrades, mechanical and instrumentation works, and terminal automation. Leveraging local content expertise alongside international codes and standards (API, ASME, NACE/AMPP, and IEC), Ereyi Ventures is positioned to execute the Automated Crude Oil Storage Tanks Upgrade and Repair Services at an offshore terminal, combining indigenous capacity with the technical rigor required for safety-critical hydrocarbon storage infrastructure.  Job Title: Piping Engineer

Location: Offshore, Delta  Role Objective

Engineer and assure all piping modifications, tie-ins, supports and mechanical interfaces associated with the tank upgrade and repair scope.

Core Roles and Responsibilities

Develop and review piping layouts, isometrics, and stress analysis for tank inlet/outlet manifolds, vent systems, and firewater/foam ring mains associated with the storage tank upgrade. Conduct piping stress analysis (CAESAR II or equivalent) for tank nozzle loading, thermal expansion, and pipe support design, ensuring compliance with API 650 Appendix P and ASME B31.3/B31.4. Review and approve piping material specifications, line lists, and specialty item datasheets (valves, strainers, flexible connectors) for the tank tie-in scope. Coordinate with civil/structural teams on pipe rack, pipe support, and sleeper design for offshore/marine environmental loading conditions. Lead piping walk-downs and field verification surveys of existing tank piping to identify corrosion, misalignment, and support deficiencies requiring repair or replacement. Prepare and review Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) redlines reflecting as-built tie-in modifications. Interface with QA/QC and NDT teams to define weld inspection scope and acceptance criteria for new/modified piping welds. Support hydrotest planning, including test pack preparation, isolation philosophy, and pressure test procedures for piping tied into the storage tanks.

Qualifications and Requirements

Offshore piping engineering errors on crude tank tie-ins carry catastrophic risk; the bar below reflects that.

B.Eng. in Mechanical or Petroleum Engineering, minimum Second Class Upper, from a COREN-accredited institution; a postgraduate qualification or specialized piping stress analysis certification is required as an additional, non-substitutable qualification. Ten (10) years post-NYSC experience in piping engineering design for oil & gas facilities, with a minimum of five (5) years specifically on tank farm/terminal piping systems (not general process plant piping). Mandatory demonstrable expert-level proficiency in CAESAR II stress analysis software, evidenced by the candidate producing and defending a sample stress analysis report during a live technical interview — certificates of training alone are insufficient without demonstrated application. COREN registration as a full member is compulsory; membership in a recognized piping/pressure equipment body (e.g., ASME, PEI) is required in addition. Proven experience applying API 650 Appendix P (tank nozzle loading) on a minimum of three completed tank projects, independently verifiable through client-issued completion/reference letters bearing project names, tank numbers, and dates. Working knowledge of AutoCAD Plant 3D, PDMS, or SP3D for isometric and layout development, with a portfolio of prior work available for review upon request. Verified offshore project experience of no less than five (5) years, with a minimum of two (2) full offshore mobilization cycles specifically on live/operational terminals (shutdown or brownfield tie-in experience strongly preferred and will be scored higher). Valid BOSIET/HUET, offshore medical fitness certificate, and immediate readiness for rotational offshore deployment. Must be able to read, interpret, and redline complex P&IDs and isometrics without assistance, to be tested via a timed practical exercise at interview stage.

Qualifications and professional certifications must be issued by recognised bodies, current where applicable, and independently verifiable. Expired, unverifiable or attendance-only certificates will not satisfy a mandatory requirement. Candidates must demonstrate recent experience on comparable oil and gas projects. Generic construction experience without direct tank, terminal, refinery, process-plant or offshore exposure will not be accepted. Candidates must be able to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, inspection and test plans, permits, risk assessments and applicable codes, and must produce clear technical reports in English. Candidates must demonstrate strong process-safety awareness, stop-work discipline, quality ownership and effective collaboration in a live brownfield environment. All offshore survival, medical and safety credentials specified for the role must be valid before mobilisation. Any offer remains conditional upon medical fitness, background checks and client approval.
