Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA) Focal Person Adamawa

The Today For Tomorrow Initiative (TFT) is a youth-led non-governmental organization in Nigeria focused on adolescent and youth empowerment, health rights, climate action, and community development. Led by Executive Director Adek Bassey, it operates programs spanning digital skill acquisition, sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR), and gender advocacy.  We are  recruiting to fill the position below:

 Job Title: Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA) Focal Person

Location: Adamawa Key Roles and Responsibilities

Safeguarding Integration: Mainstream PSEA, safeguarding, and survivor-centered frameworks across all project operational activities and community interventions. Capacity Building & Training: Conduct mandatory PSEA orientations and continuous training for project staff, partner staff, health workers, and Community Referral Champions (CRCs) on ethical conduct, non-discrimination, and the organizational Code of Conduct. Reporting Pathway Establishment: Establish, promote, and maintain safe, accessible, confidential, and culturally appropriate complaint and feedback mechanisms (CFMs) for community beneficiaries and survivors across all five LGAs. Case Management & Referral Oversight: Facilitate immediate, confidential, and survivor-centered referral protocols for handling received SGBV or safeguarding allegations in accordance with standard operating procedures. Consent & Confidentiality Enforcement: Monitor field activities to guarantee that informed consent protocols, privacy standards, and data confidentiality principles are upheld during service referrals and outreach. Risk Assessment & Mitigation: Conduct continuous safeguarding risk assessments within target communities to identify potential exposure points for exploitation or abuse and implement protective measures. Safeguarding Compliance & Reporting: Serve as the primary liaison for safeguarding compliance, maintain secure documentation on PSEA indicators, and submit monthly oversight reports to project management.

Required Qualifications and Experience

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Human Rights, International Development, Gender Studies, Public Health, or Law. Work Experience: Minimum of 3 years of specialized experience in safeguarding, PSEA, protection, or survivor-centered SGBV programming in conflict or post-conflict settings. Safeguarding Expertise: In-depth technical knowledge of international safeguarding standards, do-no-harm principles, informed consent protocols, and survivor-centered approaches. Reporting Mechanisms: Proven experience in establishing and managing community-based Complaint and Feedback Mechanisms (CFMs) and confidential case referral pathways. Capacity Building: Experience in facilitating safeguarding training and Code of Conduct orientations for staff, community workers, and partner organizations. Key Skills: Exceptional empathy, active listening, discretion, and strict commitment to confidentiality; fluency in English and relevant local languages spoken across the target LGAs in Adamawa State.
