Job Overview
A Production In-Charge or Production Manager oversees daily plant operations and factory workflows. They bridge the gap between high-level company goals and shop-floor execution.
Key ResponsibilitiesProduction Planning & Scheduling: Create daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules based on sales forecasts and plant capacity.
Workflow & Operations Oversight: Manage end-to-end manufacturing activities to make sure output targets are met.
Resource & Inventory Management: Monitor raw material availability, optimize usage, and minimize waste.
Quality Control: Enforce strict quality assurance standards and implement corrective actions for defects.
Equipment Maintenance: Coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance routines to reduce machine downtime.
Workforce Management: Supervise, train, and mentor production staff and shift workers.
Safety & Compliance: Ensure full adherence to Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) regulations.
Cost & Productivity Control: Track operational metrics, analyze performance data, and drive continuous improvement (e.g., Lean, 5S, Kaizen).
Requirements & Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s Degree or HND in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Production Engineering, or a related field.
Experience: 3 to 10 years of relevant manufacturing or production experience, including 2+ years in a supervisory or managerial capacity.
Skills: Strong leadership, problem-solving, analytical abilities, and proficiency in production reporting software/MS Office.
