Project Officer

Job Overview

FOURCi is on the lookout for an enthusiastic, competent, and dedicated Project Officer to spearhead the execution of a novel initiative. This project aims to boost the socio-economic recovery and political engagement of women and young women in peacebuilding through eco-friendly practices in Adamawa State. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with community stakeholders, civil society organizations, government representatives, and project beneficiaries to ensure smooth implementation and achievement of project goals.

Primary Duties


Oversee and manage project activities in the four target Local Government Areas (Fufore, Michika, Hong, and Yola South).
Organize and lead training sessions on environmentally-friendly agriculture, disaster risk mitigation, environmental preservation, and gender-sensitive peacebuilding.
Perform regular site visits to oversee project execution and participant involvement.
Enhance the capabilities of five local civil society organizations in climate resilience and environmental advocacy.
Orchestrate community engagement, awareness initiatives, and local discussions promoting women's leadership in conflict resolution.
Guarantee timely data gathering, reporting, and documentation of achievements, obstacles, and insights gained.
Interact with government bodies, NGOs, and local partners to foster cooperation and long-term sustainability.
Maintain adherence to donor guidelines, project schedules, and reporting requirements.


Required Qualifications and Expertise


A bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Agriculture, Gender Studies, Development Studies, Peace and Conflict Studies, or a related discipline. A master's degree is considered a bonus.
A minimum of 4 years' experience in implementing community-based projects, preferably in climate change, women's empowerment, or peacebuilding sectors.
Demonstrated experience working with women's groups, civil society organizations, or local communities in Northeast Nigeria.
In-depth understanding of climate-smart agriculture, disaster risk reduction, and gender mainstreaming.
Outstanding skills in facilitation, communication, and community mobilization.
Proficiency in project reporting, data collection, and utilization of participatory methodologies.
Fluency in English and at least one local language (Hausa, Fulfulde, or Margi) is mandatory.
Competence in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and digital communication tools.
