Quality Control Superintendent

Salary ; 180,000 - 200,000

Position Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Quality Control Superintendent with a strong background in the plastic manufacturing industry to oversee all aspects of product quality control and assurance. This role ensures products meet internal and external specifications, industry regulations, and customer expectations. The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge of plastic processing methods (injection molding, extrusion, blow molding, etc.), and a proven track record of managing QC teams, implementing quality systems, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:


Supervise and lead the quality control team in daily inspections, testing, and audits of raw materials, in-process, and finished plastic products.
Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, GMP, FDA, and other relevant industry quality standards.
Develop, implement, and monitor quality control procedures and protocols specific to plastic production.
Coordinate root cause analysis and implement corrective/preventive actions (CAPA) for non-conformities or customer complaints.
Work closely with production and engineering teams to resolve quality issues and optimize processes.
Oversee calibration and maintenance of quality inspection tools and lab equipment.
Generate and analyze quality metrics, prepare reports, and present findings to senior management.
Conduct training sessions for QC staff and production employees on quality procedures and standards.
Participate in customer audits and regulatory inspections, ensuring readiness and compliance.
Continuously improve quality systems through Six Sigma, Lean, or other process improvement methodologies.


Qualifications:


Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Industrial Technology, or a related field.
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in quality control within the plastic manufacturing industry.
At least 3 years in a supervisory or managerial QC role.
Strong understanding of plastic materials, molding processes, and related quality challenges.
Proficiency in using quality tools such as SPC, FMEA, 8D, and root cause analysis.
Knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 13485 (if medical plastics), or IATF 16949 (if automotive plastics) is preferred.
Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Experience with ERP and quality management software systems (e.g., SAP, QMS platforms).
