 Job Title: Quantity Surveyor

Locations: Abuja & Delta (will required to travel to different project sites)

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Quantity Surveyor to join its Projects & Engineering team and support the commercial and cost management of construction, agricultural infrastructure and engineering projects. The Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for cost estimation, quantity take-offs, budgeting, tender documentation, valuation, cost control, contract administration and commercial monitoringacross projects. The successful candidate will work closely with Project Managers, Civil Engineers, Architects, Contractors, Consultants, Procurement,  Finance and site teams to ensure that project costs are properly estimated, monitored, documented and controlled.

Prepare detailed Bills of Quantities (BOQs) and schedules of works. Conduct quantity take-offs from drawings, specifications and site measurements. Prepare project cost estimates, budgets and cost plans. Review contractors' quotations, tenders and commercial submissions. Assist with tender preparation, evaluation and commercial comparisons. Monitor project expenditure against approved budgets. Prepare interim valuations, payment certificates and variation assessments. Measure completed works and verify quantities executed on site. Review contractors' claims and supporting documentation. Identify cost variations, potential overruns and commercial risks. Maintain project cost reports and commercial records. Support contract administration and commercial negotiations. Verify materials, labour and work quantities where required. Conduct site inspections and measurement exercises. Prepare final accounts and project close-out documentation. Maintain proper records of project costs, variations, claims and payments. Work with Procurement and Finance to ensure commercial documentation supports payment processing. Provide cost and commercial reports to Project Management and Management. Ensure compliance with approved project budgets, contracts and internal controls.

Bachelor's Degree / HND in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline. Professional certification/membership of a recognised Quantity Surveying professional body is an advantage. 3–5 years' relevant experience, preferably in construction, infrastructure, agricultural projects or engineering projects. Strong knowledge of construction measurement and cost estimation. Experience preparing and reviewing BOQs. Experience with contractor valuations, variations and final accounts. Ability to interpret architectural, structural, civil and engineering drawings. Strong knowledge of construction materials, methods and pricing. Good knowledge of contract administration and project cost control. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and relevant Quantity Surveying/estimating software. Strong analytical, numerical and reporting skills. Good documentation and record-keeping skills. Ability to work effectively with site teams, contractors and consultants. Willingness to travel to project and farm sites when required.
