We are seeking an experienced and technically proficient Senior Chemist to support laboratory operations, chemical analysis, quality control, process monitoring, and compliance within an industrial environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting accurate chemical analyses, interpreting laboratory results, maintaining quality standards, supporting production and process teams, and ensuring compliance with established laboratory, health, safety, and environmental procedures.

Perform chemical and physical analyses of raw materials, process samples, intermediate products, finished products, water, and wastewater as required. Conduct routine and non-routine laboratory testing in accordance with approved Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Monitor and evaluate analytical results to ensure compliance with specified quality standards and process requirements. Prepare chemical reagents, solutions, standards, and samples for laboratory analysis. Calibrate, operate, and maintain laboratory instruments and analytical equipment. Ensure accurate recording, documentation, verification, and reporting of laboratory results. Investigate out-of-specification (OOS) results, unusual analytical findings, and process deviations. Support production and process teams with laboratory data required for process control and optimization. Monitor chemical consumption and ensure proper handling, storage, labeling, and disposal of chemicals. Maintain laboratory cleanliness, organization, and good housekeeping standards. Ensure laboratory activities comply with company quality, health, safety, and environmental requirements. Participate in quality assurance and quality control activities, including internal checks, method verification, and proficiency testing where applicable. Assist in developing, reviewing, and improving laboratory methods, procedures, and analytical protocols. Maintain proper inventory of laboratory chemicals, reagents, consumables, and equipment. Coordinate with Production, Quality Assurance, Maintenance, and other departments on analytical and process-related matters. Supervise and provide technical guidance to junior chemists, laboratory technicians, and other laboratory personnel. Prepare laboratory reports, trend analyses, and technical summaries for management. Participate in laboratory audits, inspections, investigations, and continuous improvement initiatives. Ensure proper documentation and traceability of all samples and test results.

Requirements & Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree or HND in Chemistry, Industrial Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related discipline. 4–6 years of relevant industrial experience in a laboratory, manufacturing, chemical processing, water treatment, food / beverage, pharmaceutical, oil & gas, or related industrial environment. Proven experience in chemical analysis and industrial laboratory operations. Strong knowledge of laboratory procedures, analytical techniques, quality control, and chemical safety. Practical experience using laboratory instruments and analytical equipment. Ability to interpret analytical results and identify trends, deviations, and potential quality issues. Experience with laboratory documentation, SOPs, quality systems, and reporting. Good knowledge of chemical handling, storage, and laboratory safety procedures. Relevant professional or technical certifications will be an added advantage. Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to work independently and effectively within a multidisciplinary industrial team. Willingness to work shifts or extended hours where operational requirements demand.
