Ereyi Ventures Nigeria Limited is an indigenous Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Logistics (EPCL) contractor providing integrated technical services to the Nigerian oil and gas industry. The company brings a multidisciplinary team of engineering, inspection, and construction professionals to deliver brownfield and greenfield projects across onshore and offshore facilities, with a focus on asset integrity, tank and vessel upgrades, mechanical and instrumentation works, and terminal automation. Leveraging local content expertise alongside international codes and standards (API, ASME, NACE/AMPP, and IEC), Ereyi Ventures is positioned to execute the Automated Crude Oil Storage Tanks Upgrade and Repair Services at an offshore terminal, combining indigenous capacity with the technical rigour required for safety-critical hydrocarbon storage infrastructure.  Job Title: Structural Engineer

Location: Offshore, Delta  Role Objective

Assess and engineer the structural integrity of tanks, foundations, roofs, platforms, access systems, and supporting steelwork affected by the upgrade and repair works.

Core Roles and Responsibilities

Provide structural engineering assessment and design for crude oil storage tank foundations, ringwalls, shell reinforcement, and roof structural repairs. Conduct structural integrity assessments of tank support structures, platforms, stairways, and access structures under offshore wind, wave, and seismic loading conditions where applicable. Review and approve structural repair designs for corroded or damaged tank shells, roofs, and foundations, ensuring compliance with API 650 Appendix E/F and relevant structural steel codes (AISC/Eurocode 3). Assess tank settlement survey data (from the API 653 Tank Inspector) and determine whether foundation remediation or re-leveling is structurally required. Design and review temporary works (scaffolding load paths, lifting frames, access platforms) required to support tank repair and coating operations offshore. Coordinate with the Piping Engineer on pipe support and pipe rack structural interfaces tied into the storage tank systems. Review and approve structural fabrication drawings and witness critical structural weld inspections in conjunction with the NDT Specialist. Prepare structural engineering calculation packages and as-built documentation for client and regulatory submission.

Qualifications and Requirements

Offshore structural failure risk (wave/wind loading combined with corrosion-weakened members) demands an exceptionally high qualification bar.

B.Eng./M.Eng. in Civil/Structural Engineering, minimum Second Class Upper — a Master's degree with a structural engineering specialization is strongly preferred and will be scored above Bachelor's-only candidates. Ten (10) years post-NYSC structural engineering experience in oil & gas/marine infrastructure, with a minimum of six (6) years specifically on storage tank foundation/shell structural assessment and repair. COREN registration as a full member is mandatory; Chartered membership of a recognized international structural engineering body (e.g., IStructE) is required as an additional, non-substitutable qualification. Demonstrated, verifiable expert-level proficiency in structural analysis software (STAAD.Pro, SACS, or equivalent) for offshore/marine structural loading scenarios, evidenced through a live technical assessment during interview. Proven experience with API 650 Appendix E (seismic design) and Appendix F (design of tanks for small internal pressures) sufficient to independently review and critique tank structural designs without supervision. Minimum five (5) documented, independently verifiable tank foundation/structural repair projects led as lead structural engineer, each verifiable via named, contactable client references bearing tank identification numbers and project dates. Minimum six (6) years offshore/marine structural engineering experience specifically, including direct exposure to metocean loading assessment (wave, current, wind) — onshore-only structural experience does not satisfy this requirement. Valid BOSIET/HUET, offshore medical fitness certificate, and full readiness for extended rotational offshore deployment. Must pass a rigorous written and practical technical assessment covering tank foundation design, structural steel repair detailing, and offshore loading calculations.
