The Treasury Manager is to effectively manage the hospital's cash, liquidity, banking relationships and financial resources, ensuring optimal cash availability, prudent investment of surplus funds, effective financial risk management and compliance with approved policies and procedures

Job Functions

Monitor daily cash positions, cash inflows and outflows, prepare cash flow forecasts and ensure adequate funds are available to meet operational and financial obligations. Manage relationships with banks and other financial institutions, coordinate banking transactions, review bank charges and resolve banking-related issues. Monitor collections, payments, transfers and account balances; ensure timely bank reconciliations and investigate and resolve discrepancies. Coordinate and monitor approved payments, ensuring appropriate authorization, accurate documentation and compliance with financial policies and delegated authority. Identify and manage treasury risks including liquidity, foreign exchange, interest rate, banking and counterparty risks, and recommend appropriate mitigation measures. Monitor surplus cash and recommend appropriate short-term investment opportunities in line with approved investment policies, risk appetite and organizational objectives. Prepare regular treasury reports, cash flow forecasts and liquidity analysis for Management, highlighting significant trends, risks and funding requirements. Monitor loans, overdrafts and other financing arrangements, including repayment schedules, interest obligations and compliance with agreed terms. Ensure compliance with treasury policies, financial regulations, banking requirements and internal controls; maintain accurate records and support internal and external audits.

Job Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration or a related discipline. Professional Qualification: ACA/ACCA/CFA or other relevant professional qualification is required/preferred. Experience: Minimum of 10 years' relevant experience, with at least 3 – 5 years in a treasury, financial management or supervisory role. Strong knowledge of cash flow management, liquidity planning, banking operations, financial controls and treasury practices. Good understanding of financial reporting, investment management, debt management and financial risk management. Strong analytical, numerical and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial/accounting software. Excellent communication, negotiation and relationship-management skills. High level of integrity, confidentiality, attention to detail and accountability. Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines and make sound financial decisions.
