Job Title: Truck-out Officer

Job Overview
The Truck-out Officer will beresponsible for overseeing the accurate measurement, daily tracking, secure movement, and efficient dispatch of petroleum products across operational facilities (depots, terminals, or retail outlets).
This role ensures strict compliance with safety, inventory accounting, and regulatory standards to prevent product losses and ensure seamless logistics operations.
Key ResponsibilitiesDip & Quantity Measurement (Dipping):
Perform daily manual dipping and automated volume checks on storage tanks, bowsers, and delivery trucks to record precise liquid product levels and temperatures.
Reconcile physical dip readings against automated tank gauge (ATG) readings and meters to detect volume discrepancies or leaks.
Calculate water bottom levels, gross volumes, and net standard volumes using standard petroleum measurement tables.
Haulage & Logistics Supervision:Supervise truck positioning, loading, and discharge operations across depot bays and dispatch centers.
Verify driver documentation, haulage permits, calibration charts, and truck tank capacity certificates prior to loading.
Inspect haulage trucks for roadworthiness, safety equipment compliance, and environmental safety adherence before exit.
Product Loading & Truck Out:Oversee the end-to-end "truck out" process to ensure correct product allocation, precise flow meter metering, and authorized compartment filling.
Ensure high-security sealing (numbered seals) on truck valves, manholes, and discharge points immediately after loading, documenting seal numbers on waybills.
Manage loading rack traffic flow to optimize turnover time and prevent operational bottlenecks.
Product Release Management:Verify product release orders, delivery notes, and customer authorization clearances prior to granting final truck dispatch clearance.
Conduct density, temperature, and quality visual checks (clarity, water content, color) before issuing release documentation.
Issue official waybills, dispatch tags, and gate passes to haulage operators.
Inventory Tracking & Reporting:Compile and submit detailed daily, weekly, and monthly product reconciliation reports covering opening stock, receipts, loading totals, truck-outs, closing stock, and variance analyses.
Log all haulage movements, truck turn-around times, and transit delays in the depot management system.
Escalate product stock losses, gauge discrepancies, or unauthorized volume variations to management immediately.
Safety, Compliance & Quality Assurance:
Enforce strict Health, Safety, Security, and Environment (HSSE) guidelines across all product handling, dipping, and truck loading areas.
Ensure ground/earthing cables are properly attached during loading and offloading to prevent static discharge hazards.
Participate in product sampling, quality tests, and periodic storage tank maintenance audits.
Key Qualifications & Requirements
Education: Bachelor’s Degree or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Petroleum Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Logistics, Operations Management, or a related discipline.
Experience: 1–3 years of hands-on experience in oil and gas depot operations, downstream logistics, or petroleum inventory monitoring.
Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with standard dipping procedures, density conversion tables, flow meters, depot safety protocols, and petroleum haulage management.
Skills: Strong numerical accuracy, attention to detail, proficiency in Excel/inventory software, sound report-writing capability, and effective communication.
