Location: Ota, Ogun

Employment Type: Full-time Key Responsibilities

Operate and monitor the tube mill production line to ensure smooth and efficient production. Perform and monitor welding operations on the tube mill line, ensuring consistent and quality welds. Operate and monitor the accumulator to maintain continuous production and proper material feeding. Prepare accurate slit reports, including slit coil details, dimensions, weight, and production information. Set up and adjust the tube mill according to required product specifications. Monitor the thickness and width of steel strips/coils and identify variations during production. Understand and accurately measure thickness, width, and dimensional variations and make necessary adjustments. Monitor welding parameters and ensure proper alignment and welding quality. Identify and troubleshoot common tube mill, welding, and accumulator-related operational issues. Conduct routine quality checks on finished tubes and ensure products meet specified dimensions and quality standards. Monitor raw material usage, production output, scrap, and material wastage. Maintain accurate production and machine operation records. Ensure proper handling and movement of coils and materials during production. Carry out routine machine checks and report mechanical or electrical faults promptly. Follow all production, quality, health, safety, and environmental procedures. Maintain a clean and safe working environment around the tube mill. Work closely with the Production, Quality Control, Maintenance, and Stores teams to achieve production targets.


Requirements

Minimum of 5 years’ relevant experience in a steel manufacturing industry, specifically in tube mill operations. Proven experience as a Tube Mill Operator, Welder, Tube Mill Technician, or similar role. Strong practical knowledge of tube mill welding operations and accumulator operation. Ability to prepare and interpret slit reports. Good understanding of steel coil/slit material specifications. Ability to accurately measure and monitor strip thickness and width variations. Good knowledge of tube mill setup, alignment, welding, sizing, and production processes. Ability to identify and respond to quality and production issues promptly. Technical qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, Welding/Fabrication, or a related field is an advantage. Ability to work shifts and under production pressure.
