 Job Title: Warehouse and Marketing Officer

Employment Type: Full-time Purpose

The Warehouse / Marketing Officer will be responsible for the effective coordination of plywood activities while supporting the company's marketing, sales, customer relationship, and product-distribution activities. The role requires a practical understanding of plywood products, building materials, inventory management, warehouse documentation, customer requirements, and market development. The successful candidate will ensure proper handling, storage, identification, and dispatch of products while actively supporting efforts to increase sales and strengthen the company's presence in the construction and building-materials market.

Receive, inspect, count, and properly document plywood products entering the warehouse. Ensure plywood and related products are properly stacked, labelled, stored, and protected from damage or deterioration. Maintain accurate records of stock receipts, issues, transfers, returns, and dispatches. Monitor stock levels and promptly report low-stock, excess-stock, damaged, or slow-moving products. Conduct regular physical stock counts and reconcile physical quantities with inventory records. Ensure products are released only against properly authorized documents. Coordinate loading and dispatch of finished plywood to customers and distributors. Monitor the condition and presentation of products before dispatch. Investigate and report stock discrepancies, damages, shortages, or other warehouse irregularities. Maintain an orderly, safe, and clean warehouse environment in line with company HSE requirements.

Support the implementation of marketing and sales activities for plywood Identify potential customers, distributors, dealers, contractors, furniture manufacturers, builders, and other relevant market segments. Conduct market visits to identify new business opportunities and gather information on customer needs. Develop and maintain relationships with existing and prospective customers. Follow up on enquiries, quotations, orders, deliveries, and customer feedback. Support customer acquisition and retention initiatives. Monitor market prices, competitor activities, product demand, and emerging market trends. Provide regular market intelligence reports to management. Support promotional activities, product presentations, exhibitions, dealer engagements, and other marketing initiatives. Assist in developing strategies to increase product visibility and sales within assigned markets.

Respond promptly and professionally to customer enquiries relating to product availability, specifications, pricing, and delivery. Coordinate with the Marketing managers and logistics teams to support timely fulfilment of customer orders. Maintain proper records of customer enquiries, quotations, orders, and follow-ups. Follow up on pending orders and communicate relevant updates to customers. Handle customer complaints professionally and escalate unresolved issues to the appropriate manager. Identify opportunities for repeat business, cross-selling, and customer referrals.

Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly warehouse and marketing reports as required. Maintain accurate records of stock movement, dispatches, customer orders, and marketing activities. Prepare reports on customer enquiries, sales leads, market visits, competitor activities, and business opportunities. Ensure all warehouse and marketing documentation is properly filed and readily available for reference and audit. Assist management with stock, sales, and market-related information for decision-making.

Compliance, Safety & Internal Control:

Ensure compliance with company policies and warehouse procedures. Follow all applicable health, safety, environmental, and security requirements. Prevent unauthorized access to warehouse stock and promptly report suspicious activities or losses. Ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) where required. Maintain high standards of accountability and integrity in handling company products, documents, and customer transactions.

Requirements & Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree or HND in Marketing, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Purchasing & Supply, or a related discipline. Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in warehouse operations, sales, marketing, building materials, plywood, timber, furniture, construction materials, or related industries. Experience in a plywood manufacturing, building-materials, or construction-materials company will be an added advantage. Practical knowledge of warehouse and inventory management processes. Experience dealing with dealers, distributors, contractors, furniture manufacturers, builders, or other B2B customers is desirable. Good understanding of the plywood and building-materials market.
