Description
We are seeking a competent and experienced Builder to support and oversee building construction operations, ensuring effective site coordination, quality workmanship and compliance with approved construction programmes, specifications and safety standards.
Key ResponsibilitiesCoordinate, supervise and monitor building construction activities from commencement through completion.
Interpret architectural, structural and other relevant construction drawings and specifications.
Ensure building works are executed in accordance with approved designs, construction standards and quality requirements.
Supervise artisans, technicians, subcontractors and other site personnel to ensure efficient execution of assigned works.
Monitor construction progress, material utilisation and workmanship to ensure compliance with approved schedules and specifications.
Coordinate site inspections, identify defects and ensure timely corrective actions.
Ensure effective coordination of construction resources, equipment and materials.
Enforce compliance with applicable HSE requirements and statutory building regulations.
Prepare site progress reports and maintain relevant construction documentation.
RequirementsBachelor's Degree (B.Sc/B.Tech) in Building or Building Technology from a recognised institution.
Must be a registered Builder with CORBON. Evidence of professional registration must be provided.
Membership of the Nigerian Institute of Building (NIOB) will be an added advantage.
Minimum of 4 years' relevant post-qualification experience in building construction.
Demonstrable experience in supervising and coordinating building construction activities.
Experience in residential, commercial and high-rise building projects will be an advantage.
Ability to manage site operations, subcontractors and construction personnel effectively.
Core Competencies:Strong knowledge of building construction methods, materials and techniques.
Ability to interpret architectural and structural drawings and technical specifications.
Competence in construction planning, site supervision and quality control.
Good knowledge of construction HSE requirements and building regulations.
Strong leadership, coordination and problem-solving skills.
Good communication, reporting and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant construction software.
