 Job Title: English Language Teacher

Location: Edem Idim Ishiet Community, Onna LGA - Akwa Ibom

We are seeking qualified, passionate, dedicated and enthusiastic teachers to join our academic team and contribute to nurturing students' intellectual abilities, moral values and personal development. The successful candidates will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging lessons, assessing students' academic progress and creating a positive learning environment that promotes academic excellence, discipline, creativity and critical thinking. Candidates must demonstrate strong subject knowledge, effective communication skills and a genuine passion for teaching and inspiring young minds.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

Plan and deliver engaging English Language lessons in line with the approved curriculum. Teach grammar, vocabulary, comprehension, essay writing, oral English and phonetics. Develop students' reading, writing, listening and speaking skills. Improve students' communication, spelling, pronunciation and creative writing abilities. Prepare lesson plans, instructional materials, assignments, tests and examination questions. Assess students' language proficiency and provide constructive feedback. Prepare students for internal and external examinations. Encourage reading habits, effective communication and proper use of the English language. Maintain classroom discipline and accurate academic records.

General Responsibilities

Maintain high standards of teaching and professional conduct. Create a safe, supportive and engaging classroom environment. Promote discipline, integrity, respect and good moral values among students. Participate in staff meetings, school events and extracurricular activities. Maintain effective communication with parents, colleagues and school management. Monitor students' academic and personal development. Comply with school policies, procedures and academic standards. Perform other reasonable academic duties assigned by the school management.

Qualifications and Requirements

Bachelor's Degree (B.Sc. / B.Ed. / B.A.) or HND in a relevant discipline. A teaching qualification or professional teaching certification (TRCN) will be an added advantage. Previous teaching experience is desirable. Strong knowledge of the relevant subject area. Excellent communication and classroom management skills. Ability to prepare lesson plans and deliver effective lessons. Good interpersonal skills, patience and a passion for working with children. Ability to work independently and collaboratively. Commitment to students' academic success and personal development.
