 Job Title: Piling Rig Operator

Locations: Ibeju-Lekki - Lagos, Sango Ota and Abeokuta - Ogun

Employment Type: Full-time Responsibilities

Operatepiling rigs and associated heavy-duty drilling equipment for foundation construction and deep foundation piling operations. Executepiling activities in accordance with approved construction drawings, piling specifications, method statements, and site instructions. Position, align, and stabilise piling rigs accurately over designated pile locations before commencing drilling operations. Operate drilling equipment to achieve specified pile diameters, depths, and alignment in accordance with engineering and construction requirements. Control drilling operations, including auger drilling, boring, casing installation, and other applicable piling techniques. Monitor drilling progress, penetration rates, ground conditions, soil resistance, and borehole stability throughout operations. Identify and report underground obstructions, unexpected soil conditions, groundwater encounters, and drilling difficulties to the piling engineer or site supervisor. Assist with the installation, positioning, and removal of temporary casings to maintain borehole stability during drilling. Monitor drilling tools, augers, Kelly bars, drilling buckets, winches, ropes, and other rig components to ensure effective operation. Ensure accurate pile positioning and verticality by working closely with piling engineers, surveyors, and site supervisors.

Minimum of 5 years' proven practical experience operating bored piling rigs on civil engineering, foundation engineering, or construction projects. Relevant technical training or certification in Piling Rig Operation, Heavy Equipment Operation, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical discipline. Demonstrable hands-on experience with bored piling equipment and foundation drilling operations. Good understanding of bored piling techniques, drilling procedures, temporary casing installation, and borehole preparation. Knowledge of soil conditions, drilling resistance, pile positioning, drilling depths, and foundation construction requirements. Ability to interpret piling instructions, construction drawings, drilling specifications, and site operational procedures. Sound understanding of piling rig components, hydraulic systems, drilling tools, and equipment operating mechanisms.
