Job Overview
A Terminal Clerk is responsible for supporting daily terminal or transport operations by handling documentation, coordinating shipments or passenger activities, maintaining records, and ensuring smooth communication between departments, drivers, customers, and terminal management.
The role is common in logistics, shipping, transportation, airports, bus terminals, and warehouse operations.
Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare and process shipping, cargo, or passenger documents
Maintain accurate records of terminal activities and transactions
Coordinate arrivals, departures, loading, and unloading schedules
Communicate with drivers, customers, and terminal staff
Monitor cargo or passenger movement within the terminal
Handle data entry and update operational databases
Verify invoices, tickets, manifests, and delivery documents
Assist with customer inquiries and service support
Ensure compliance with company policies and safety regulations
Report operational issues or delays to supervisors
QualificationsEducation: Ordinary National Diploma (OND), Higher National Diploma (HND), or Bachelor’s Degree
Field of Study: Business Administration, Logistics, Transport Management, or related field
Experience: Minimum of 1–2 years in terminal, logistics, or transport operations
Knowledge: Maritime/ports, aviation, transportation, and haulage operations
Skills & Competencies:Operations leadership and logistics coordination
Safety management and regulatory compliance
Strong organizational and communication skills
People management and teamwork abilities
SalaryN120,000 - N150,000 / month.
